Chapter one
"You coming for a drink, Kate?" Fletch asked me as I signed out at the front desk. He was stood with Zoe,,Cal,Rita and Robyn.
"Maybe another time." I said putting down the biro.
"Awh come on. You've earnt it." Zoe said as I approached the small group.
"I really should get home." I said checking my watch, 10:50.
"Ok, maybe some other time." Rita said as we walked out.
"See you tomorrow." I said as they approached the small pub.
Choruses of "bye" and "see you later" filled my ears as I made my way to my car. I started the engine and backed out of the drive.
I drove along the rode with the radio on when I noticed a car coming really close to the back of my car.
"Jesus." I said looking in the mirror.
Before I could register what was happening the red land rover was smashing back into my car, forcing it forward. My car then rolled down an embankment stopping as it a tree. I sat in panic. I could feel blood on my forehead. My legs were stuck.
"Help!" I shouted.
That's when I heard someone say, "Somebody call an ambulance.
I could the rustling of leaves as two paramedics made their way down the embankment, Dixie and Jeff.
"Hello darli-Kate?" Jeff said realising it was me. "What happened?"
"A car. It pushed me down here." I said feeling my forehead. I looked at my fingers, they were covered in a deep red. Blood.
"Just try and stay still Kate." Dixie said putting a neck brace around my neck.
"Was anyone else in the car with you?" Dixie asked.
"No."
"306 to control. We are going to need fire bregaid as soon as possible.
"Where is the pain?" Dixie asked.
"My chest and legs." I said as a oxygen mask was placed round my head.
"Ok, we'll have you out of here in no time love." Jeff said putting his radio back on his jacket.
