The Begining

School just got out, and in these past few days I've gotten more cuts and bruises then anytime during school. It was fun getting them, don't get me wrong, but they hurt like nothing else. That summer I was just turning 10, I am now 16. That was one of my shortest summers ever. It wasn't short because of the normal means like time flying to fast... no that was the summer when I had decided to join a karate class. Sounds innocent right? Wrong! After passing some aptitude tests they started calling me a natural. Which in my head was bull because me and my friends had always done things to get our agility up, such as wooden dagger fighting going full out, or going and swinging through the trees while trying to get the other person to fall. All of our activities were dangerous and we knew it, but it was fun. It was 1 and a-half months in to the program when Master Faru decided that I should go to a summer camp that was purely for karate. All we did was train, sometimes we would spar with our hands, and sometimes with daggers. Other training would involve balance, stealth, knife throwing and many others. Sometimes I would question whether a lot of the activities were really karate, I was always told "it's apart of fighting, you should be able to win in any situation."  It was about 2 weeks in when I started to wander when I would go home...
