"Ready for your first day of school?" My mum, asks me from the other side of the kitchen counter, as she flips the eggs. I ignore her question and by the look of it she turns around to ask me if everything is okay, but surely my dads walks into the room and doesn't give her the chance to ask me.
"Hey, Kiddo! Ready for you first day" My father doesn't even lay his eyes on me when he asks me that, because he's looking at the newspaper that's right in front of him instead. "What's on the menu." He scratches his chin, and my mom walks over to the table, my dad is sitting at and she hands him a plate that has eggs, bacon, sausage, and weenies. "Mmm, Just how I like it." He kisses my mom, and she go back to prepare my breakfast, I believe.
I wonder what's on my parents mind. The fact that they ask these parently questions, yet they forget I didn't give them a response and they don't bother to ask again. My father looks up at me, and then my mum. I stupidly thought he was gonna ask me what he had ask me earlier, but sadly he didn't.
"So I went to your school today and I talked to the people up front of the office, and I told them that your new and that I'd be nice if they'd gave you a special someone to, you know show you around. That's why I need you to eat your breakfast fairly quickly." She states, and she brings me a plate that had exactly the same thing that my dads had. "They agreed to it and they got someone to show you around. I want you to get there early so that you can get to know that person that will be showing you around the school, okay." My mum finishes, and she kisses my head, before she steps foot out the door to go to work.
"I'm guessing your taking me to school right, dad?" I question, and I pick up the fork and begin eating while I wait for my father to reply.
"Ah..Yes" He picks his head up from the newspaper and looks up at me. "Are you almost done, your mom wants you to be there by seven-thirty." He picks up his plate, and he stands up.
"Yeah..I'm done." I push the plate towards my father, and he examines it before he throws the food into the trash.
"You didn't eat much, Hanna." He states, as he puts the plate in the sink and then walks to me. "Let's go." He says, and I follow him to the door. See what I'm talking about. They say a few meaningful things but then forget about them like there words that are meaningless.

"So Hanna Baker, huh?" She asks, as we walk throw the school halls.
"Yeah, and you are?" I ask, and for a moment I look away from her and examine the lockers, floors, and classes, doors. I keep my eyes on the boys too.
"I'm Courtney Crimson."
