The lights flickered, and a shuddering chill ran down his spine. He clenched the pistol in his hand, slowly walking down the dark hall. He held his breath as he laid his eyes on a single, blood red door. Should he dare open it? Dean Winchester held his breath, rechecked the clip in his pistol, then kicked the door open. He sucked in a breath as he looked into the darkness, unable to see a thing.

He cursed under his breath and called 'clear', then went to turn around, but something grabbed his collar. He let out a yelp as he was slammed into the wall, stars filling his vision. His eyes were bleary and he could make out the black eyes of a demon. He snarled, but a fist met his jaw, excruciating pain electrocuted his face. He didn't realize he blacked out.

After what could have been hours, he could taste blood on his tongue, but couldn't open his eyes. He could hear commotion and screaming, but he didn't know who--or what--it came from. He felt arms grab him and he tried to break free, but they only grabbed him tighter, but strangely, they were comforting. He stopped fighting as he felt his wounds burn like fire. He cringed, but it disappeared after a few moments, allowing his face to feel... new. All the pain was gone. Gone just like that! He opened his eyes and found Castiel's dark blue eyes.

"Cas?" Dean got out. Cas opened his mouth to say something, but he collapsed to the floor. "Cas!" He ran to his side, nearly tripping in the process. He shook Castiel's arm, but he only let out a moan. He looked for wounds... for anything! There... he saw fresh blood soaking through his trench coat. Only an angel blade could do that much damage to an angel. But how did the demon get his filthy hands on one?

"Sam!" He called, struggling to get Cas up in his arms. He began to walk down the hall once Cas was secure in his arms; once he was safe. "Don't die on me, Cas. Not today!" He pleaded, feeling tears bite his eyes. The demon's eyes were burnt to crisps, and he was obviously dead. Good thing he was dead, or something terrible was coming for that asshole.

Sam rushed down the hall, a pistol in hand. Once he spotted them, he dropped the gun and took in what he saw. "What happened?" He asked.

"There's no time for that! We need to get him to the bunker," Dean snapped, his steps faster than before. He couldn't let Cas die. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if he did.

When they rushed into the Bunker, his breath was uneven, quickly rushing Cas to the table. "Get the med-kit." He ordered Sam. He obeyed and immediately ran for it, returning moments later. He snatched the kit from his hands and took a needle and thread, quickly stitching the wound. He lost a lot of blood... too much blood. Did angels need blood? Probably. The tears pricked at his eyes again, but mostly anger raged throughout his veins. Thank god that son-of-a-bitch was dead, or he would have tortured that bastard until his screamed to death.

After what seemed like hours, Cas burst awake, then instantly cried out in pain. Dean started and ran to his side, his eyes wide open, and didn't realize he had fallen asleep. Cas stared at him for a moment, his eyes softening. "Dean?" He said it as if he couldn't believe it.

"Are you alright?" He asked the angel, keeping a safe distance away. But for some reason, he wanted to be closer. To hold him in his arms once more.

Castiel nodded, a smile appearing on his lips. "Of course I am. But I wasn't expecting what had happened. I thought you were going to die, but I got there in time." He said.

"Yeah... thanks for that. Is there anything I can get you?" Dean stammered.

The angel furrowed his brows. "I'm an angel of the lord; I don't need anything." Dean couldn't help but roll his eyes, hearing that one far too often. "But is there anything I can do for you?" Castiel began to sit up, but Dean forced him back down.
