The unexpected imprint

AUGUST 1, 2005 - Aspens POV

It had only been a few weeks since I've turned 17; my dad had thrown me a birthday party with the pack, my older sisters, little brother, and my eldest brother Dean. My other older brother Sammy wasn't able to come and visit due to the fact he was getting ready for school to start back at Stanford with his girlfriend, Jessica. My dad, as lively as ever, told me and Jake that the Chief of Police, Charlie, his daughter Isabella is moving back to town; when we were younger she always wanted to be in charge of everything and my brother Jacob would let her walk all over him, that's when I started to hang out with Paul.

It had already been one year since I shifted in the woods, my life had changed so much when it happened; since I wasn't allowed to tell Jake why I was with the pack he had started to shut me out and become cold to me. We still have no clue as to why my eyes are red while in wolf form, there's nothing in the tribes' lore, my uncle John was also not able to ever find anything. He and my father think it has something to do with why something brought mother back from the dead only to have me.

Being here in Forks makes me feel at home but I want to leave it and explore the world. I huff my breath as I tell my dad goodbye, afterwards I walk outside with my backpack that contains my extra pairs of clothing plus a swimsuit and towel. I walked a few feet into the woods next to my house and looked around to make sure nobody was near me, after doing so I stripped off my clothes before quickly stuffing them into my bag and shifting to my wolf form.

I ran about a mile before trying to mind think my pack.

'Anyone on patrol right now?' I questioned to see if any of my pack were in the forest with me.

'Yeah Aspen, Paul and I are out right now. Where are you at?' I heard Sam's voice replay back in my head.

'Im in the clearing by my dad's old cabin, actually I was wanting to go to the beach right now to go diving. Do you guys want to get Jared and Emily and go down to the beach today?' I replied slowing down my pace waiting for their response.

'Yeah that sounds good, Do you mind going to my house and let Emily know? Paul and I will go see if Jared is home.' Sam had questioned me.

'Yeah no problem, but you know if she says she wants a ride I'm letting her Sam.' I told him as I let out a snort, turning towards Emily's house and breaking out into a run closing the mind link between me and the pack.

As I got to Emily's house I went to a changing area she had set for me so the boys didn't see me every time I shifted. "Emily?" I called out as I opened the door to her home.

"Hey, Pen! I'm in the bathroom hold on one sec." she shouted out from her bedroom. After a few minutes, she came out and walked to where I was before saying "So what's up Aspen?"

"So I was going to the beach to dive for a bit then just lay around but I linked Sam and Paul and they said they wanting to join, so I came over here to see if you wanted to come and to grab Sams stuff if you don't want to come," I told her at once

"Oh yeah I wanna come, just let me throw a bag together with some extra clothes and sandwiches" Emily replied to me

"Okay, we can take your truck or if you want I can take you there on my back. I'll be able to hold the bag if you can wear my backpack." I explained to her

"Really? I've been trying to get Sam too but he won't because of the accident. I'll put everything in Sammy's duffle bag then." She told me as she shrugged her shoulders and walked to the other room. After a few minutes of waiting, she came out with the bag packed nodded her head saying, "Okay I'm ready we can go now."

When we both got outside I explained to her, "Heres my bag if you put in on now and clip it to your chest that should be good. When I'm done shifting I'll get down so it'll be easier for you to get on and when you get on just try to wrap your arms around my neck as much as possible and hold on to my fur." She nodded her head back to be before I walked back to my changing area. When I was done changing I walked out to the front porch before lying on my belly.

"God your fur is so beautiful Aspen!" Emily exclaimed as she ran her hands threw my fur, before setting her bag in front of my face. After she was sat on my back I gripped the bag in between my teeth and made my way to the beach in a slow run.

After around 10 minutes we made it to the beach. Before letting Emily off my back I mind linked the boys 'Emily and I just got to the beach anyone else near us?' I questioned before letting out a howl to signal the boys. After about 5 minutes Sam, Paul, and Jared all came to where we were waiting.

"Finally you boys a here, me and Aspen were getting squirrelly waiting for you," Emily said as Sam came over and helped Em down. The boys turned their backs while I shifted and Emily handed me my swimsuit.

"Alright boys lets go do some diving," I said aloud with a smirk on my face.

"You just couldn't help yourself and had to give Emily a ride here?" Sam said with a raised eyebrow while we made our way to the sand.

"You know it Alpha." I told him in a teasing manner while we set our bags by the chair the boys brought. "Common guys lets go to the clifts!" I yelled while running away from them. Soon enough we were all at the top of the clifts ready to jump. "Alright Paul you're with me," I told my best friend with my smile holding out my hand.

"Alright sleeping beauty lets do this thing" He replied before throwing me over his shoulder and jumping off the cliff.

I could feel the wind whipping my hair around my face before I splash right into the cold salt water. As I came back up for air I looked at Paul before smacking his chest before saying "You asshole!" Before he could reply, Sam and Emily came splashing in next to us, Jared following not long after.

We had swum and layed out at the beach for hours, I was having an amazing time with my pack unknowing to what had been happing at the same moments in California and the message left on my phone. 

PSA- I really hope you guys like my rewrite so far! and yes John and Aspen are close and have a Uncle/niece type of relationship. Once again I plan for Aspen to be in season one of SPN up until johns death, then after Jake will shift and she will be back in forks for the remainder of New Moon, and she will meet Elijah in eclipse! if you have any questions of how her story line will progress please send me a message or comment them and I will do my best to tell you with out spoilers. please like a like and star thank you so much for the support <3
