Over the next three days I noticed that Jack had started packing his things, I pretended not to notice so I just waited; unsure of what he was doing. I had also noticed his lack of sleep, dark rings had encircled his eyes and he always looked tired. One day I found him outside talking to someone wearing the same cloths as him, but I didn’t get a close enough look to see what he looked like. I didn’t want to get caught so I walked back inside and waited for him to come back. I knew if I said anything he would get mad that I had been spying on him. I really didn’t think much of it until one morning.
Jack had gotten up at four in the morning, and he woke me up as he got out of bed. I stayed where I was as still as I could and watched Jack grab his bags as he walked over to me I pretended to be asleep and he kissed my forehead and sighed “Goodbye Luna…” He placed a note on my nightstand and as soon as I heard the back door open I flung myself out of bed and read the note he left for me:
Dear Luna, I am so sorry but this choice is not mine. I have to leave you now because I come from a world so different from yours. I love you so much Luna just remember me that is the only way. Stay strong Lulu.
I cursed and raced to the back door just was Jack was disappearing into the trees. I silently followed him and gasped when I saw the same guy that Jack had been talking to days before a purple portal opened up and my eyes widened I saw Jack look back once and step through. And as soon as the other guy stepped through I ran as fast as I could and dived into the portal as it was about to disappear forever. For a minute I could only see black but then I felt myself fly forward and I hit my head on something hard. And I blacked out. All I heard before I was out completely was: “Oh my god a human has passed through the gate.” I didn’t know how long I was out but when I woke up something in my arm snapped and punched forward. I heard shuffling but I ended up punching someone in the face and they fell to the floor. “Damn it Jack she punches hard!” I rubbed a spot on my head and groaned. “Jack you are in so much fucking trouble I swear you need to tell me what all that shit back there was.” I growled. I froze, did I just growl? “Lulu, calm down a bit you hit your head on a rock and you might have a concussion.” Jack spoke from another room not far off. As soon as I saw him I snorted, and crossed my arms. I noticed that my vision had suddenly improved and when I looked at the person still sitting on the floor I covered my mouth. “Oh, please gods don’t tell me.” I blinked looking at Jack then looking at the guy from my nightmares. “This better not be some sick joke Jack.” I snapped at Jack. “Because I’ve seen you before you have to be the greatest person alive and now you’re here. Jeff Woods or better known as Jeff the Killer. God I loved you when I grew out of being afraid of you, because your one bad ass guy.” I looked at Jeff who turned to Jack and smiled wider. “Told you she would recognize me you owe me twenty bucks dude.”
Jack growled, and turned back to me only to get a slap to the face from me. Jeff burst out laughing and Jack was rubbing his cheek that was now a bright red. “God Luna what the hell was THAT for?!” He hissed. “I think you know what it was for EXPLAIN NOW.” I hissed back and crossed my arms. Jack looked at Jeff “Dude it’s too late now you might as well…” He rubbed the back of his head looking concerned.
Jack turned to face me and sighed.
“Luna baby, there is a lot I haven’t told you about myself, and I’m so sorry I have to tell you now…” He began.
2 hours later…
After Jack explained I ran off out of the mansion and ran into the woods not stopping for anyone, this wasn’t true it couldn’t be true! I can’t believe I didn’t flip out when I saw Jeff, I guess I was feeling sort of fangirling then but when Jack told me the rest I couldn’t take it. I didn’t know how long I ran but when I finally stopped there was a tiny old hut in front of me. I pulled the door open and closed it behind me, sitting in the farthest corner from the door. Curled up in a ball sobbing, I wanted to go home I shouldn’t be here. Once I slowed down my breathing I sat there in the darkness, I ended up dozing off I hadn’t realized how tired I was. I didn’t know how long I had been asleep, but I snapped my head up when I finally did wake up and I screamed. I heard my name being called out so I immediately became quite.
