Kira Williams is your everyday highschool student- brown hair, brown eyes, a fear of the ocean, and a secret desire to dye her hair pink. Kira wasn't the smartest girl on campus, but she had always believed solid facts over myths.
Oh yes, Kira Williams had it all. Kira and her boyfriend Adrian had been accepted into NYU, her best friend Ariabella would be nearby, and senior year was finally coming to an end. So on the night of her 18th birthday she decides to attend a bonfire at the beach before highschool is over, and on a drunken dare she dives into the ocean.
Everyone had joined in, but she went too far. The freedom and alcohol got to her and the panic began to set in. So when nobody sees her pass out in the ocean, she drowns at the age of 18. But when she finds herself at the bottom of the ocean that she hates, surrounded by the mermaids she never believed in, she's in for a hell of an adventure.
