“Isabelle, come on! President Swansea wants everyone in the Capitol by her mansion in five minutes!” Lizzie calls. “I’m coming, I’m coming . . .” I say lazily, standing up slowly.

Lizzie and I walk, well, Lizzie jogs, to the presidents mansion.

“Welcome, welcome!” Ambrosia Norwich says. “For the past four years the last surviving tributes of The Hunger Games, Beetee, Haymitch Abernathy, Enobaria, Annie Cresta, Johanna Mason, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have voted on if they wanted to hold the Games to punish the Capitol for everything they did to the districts. Unfortunately, for you kids they voted on sending 24 kids to fight to the death.” Ambrosia finishes.

I just stare at Ambrosia in shock but everyone else gasp in horror. Lizzie is crying next to me.

“They reaping will be held in 12 days so kids between the ages of 12 and 18 should start to prepare.” She continues. She opens her mouth like she wants to say something more but decides against it. “I’m sorry kids, I’ll see you in 12 days.” She says sadly and walks away.
