 ~CHAPTER 5~

Before I even turned around he walked off in the opposite direction. Not wanting to be stuck alone in a new place, I know nothing about. I jogged up behind him following like a little golden retriever puppy. “What was that?" I said jogging beside him. He just kept walking,

"You do know that was a cafe right "still ignoring me, sigh "As in a place that has food."

"FOOD! Like no more hunger." I said all cavemen like, maybe he would understand. "Hey!" I shouted pounding on his shoulder. He gave me a look like I was that annoying child in a tantrum then held my wrists lightly like I was an annoying child in a tantrum!

"I thought you might like to eat your favorite, that all," was it me or did I see a glimmer of amusement in his eyes.

I looked ahead to see a sign covered in grape vines I read "The Brick oven."' yum!' was my first thought then the second was "Wait how did you know that? This pla-" I was cut off by my own surprise as he pulled me into the restaurant. It had one of those cute brick ovens and it was floored with rustic tiles, a beautiful stunning ceiling mosaic, it smelt like fresh hot pizza from every corner of the room, it wreaked Italian.

Then I looked down to only blush realizing he was still holding my hand but I kinda didn't want him to let go. He thrashed my hand down and soon my fleeting semblance of romance towards him shattered. "Can he read my mind?" I thought to myself. I cringed slightly, my hand felt so cold out of his grasp. Now it just laid limp beside me.

We sat down in a little nook; fresh flowers were in a clay vase. They looked so bright and colourful. I leaned in to smell them, but was stopped by Ashten as he wrenched the vase from under my nose.

"Don't you'll go into anaphylactic shock!" he said rather annoyed giving the vase to a waitress who seemed a little too happy about being called over. I rolled my eyes at her it seems these giggling idiots come in all shapes and forms.

"What?" I eyed him suspiciously.

"If you were paying attention to what you were doing you would have seen that those were petunias."

I eyed them as the waitress dumped them into the garbage, with discontent and rubbed my shoulders nervously. A sudden flash back washed over me and I shivered, I remember the last time I was near petunias, I ended up in the hospital.

WAIT! How did he know I was allergic? I looked him over one more time, but he was reading a magazine he probably bought at the stand. The cover read 'Today's Business Day'

"May I take your order?" said someone with a thick Italian accent, interrupting his reading. Ashten looked up from his magazine and at the waiter then went back to reading.

I gave Ashten an agitated look which he completely ignored and asked the waiter.

"Umm can I get a menu or something please?" I heard a low sigh behind the papers.

"That won’t be necessary." he said his thick eyebrows knitted in an annoyed position, still not looking up from his magazine. I gave him a deathly glare from the corner of my eye thinking.

WE CAME TO GET FOOD AND NOW YOU DON'T ORDER!

He then sighed again neatly closing the magazine speaking to the waiter in an entirely different language.

I stared at him in awe; he was conversing in fluent Italian. When he finished the waiter smiled at him then said "sì molto buono" he looked at me spitefully with a tipped nose to the air and a swift turn on his heel.

And returned to his reading.

Grrr.

"What was that about?" I whispered to him calmly peering over my shoulder at the snooty waiter "lasciarmi sola ragazza idiota" he replied to me flipping a page.
