*JJ's POV*
I stood in my corner store looking out across the racks of clothes I sell. I smiled when I thought of my boyfriend, Simon. My smile faltered soon though when I remembered he was slowly dying of cancer. I snapped out of my thoughts when the door opened.
I gasped, "Mara? Is-is it really you?!?" The girl gave me a slight smile and looked down shyly. I leaped across the counter and pulled my daughter into a tight hug. She hugged me back and I felt my shirt start to get wet.
"Shh-shh baby girl it's okay!" I kissed her forehead. "Wait! H-how are you alive?" I whispered.
"God gave me a second chance dad." She sobbed and I pulled her back into a hug. "C'mon baby, let's go home. I can get you a drink and you can see-" I froze.
"Dad? What happened to Simon?" She whispered. My voice cracked as I answered.
"He's dying of cancer......."
