I stopped in my tracks and my mouth dropped open. Did she just say orphanage?? This can't be true. I can't go to an orphanage. I've never talked to any other people in my life other than my dad, police, and the doctors. Will I get beat up by the other kids? A whole bunch of thoughts raced through my mind at 1,000 miles an hour. I couldn't believe at what...penny is it..is telling me. I guess she could see what I was thinking because she took another step forward and tried to explain the whole process to me. I didn't really pay attention all I remember is her saying "well I guess we can head over there right now." And that's when my heart started beating faster than ever.
