It Takes Two [Naruto Fanfic]

A/N: Okay guys. This was my very first fanfiction EVER. I wrote it way back when I was 9. I've tried to keep it on the same story line but I have made a few changes. Also this story is set in Shippuden as I started watching that first, 'kay? I think that's it....for now...

Third person POV:

"I seriously don't see why we need a new member Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto grumbled, as he followed the silver haired man out into the woods. "Team 7 is fine with just the three of us!"

"No, your wrong Naruto." Kakashi sighed. "Just can it already. Lady Tsunade has assigned another Genin, wether you like it or not."

Naruto crossed his arms and huffed. "Well I dont like it! And the basterd better not think he's going to take Sasuke's place. He's a TEMPORARY team mate!"

Kakashi chuckled. "What makes you so sure the Genin is male?"

"......Your telling me they're a girl...?"

Kakashi nodded, and pointed up ahead, to where a girl with long blond hair was talking to Sakura.

"Damn this is just great." Naruto grumbled.

They got closer and the girl smiled shyly. "H-hello..."

"Your late." Sakura grumbled. "As usual...."

"Sakura why don't you introduce us?" Kakashi asked, ignoring the pinkette's remark.

"Fine. Guys, this is Atsuko Iro. Atsuko, meet Kakashi Hatake and Naruto Uzumaki."

She bowed slightly, her strange violet eyes sparkling. "Nice to meet you both."

"How old are you Atsuko?" Kakashi asked.

"14, sir."

"Seeing as your the youngest.....I will give you chance to back out."

Her eyes widened in alarm. "Back out?! No way."

Kakashi smiled his closed eyed smile. "Good. But you've gotta pay attention okay?"

She saluted. "Yes sir! But please keep it simple sir."

"I'll try." He said with a chuckle. "But I think, you should work with Naruto for now. You and Sakura can always practice later."

"Yes sir." She said, moving next to the blond.

"What am I here for then?" Sakura snapped.

"You can go Sakura." Kakashi sighed. "I just wanted you to deliver Atsuko."

Sakura grumbled and walked off.

"Okay!" Naruto shouted. "What's next for training Sensei?!"

"First, a question." Kakashi said. "Do either of you know what kind of chakra nature you have?"

They both shook their heads.

Kakashi held up a piece of paper, between two fingers and it crumpled. All on its own. Atsuko gasped, while Naruto looked confused.

"This is no ordinary piece of paper." Kakashi said, digging two out of his pocket and handing them to his students. "If you focus your chakra in them it will tell you what your chakra nature is. If it's lightning like mine, the paper will crumple, if it's fire; the paper will burst into flames, Earth; the paper will crumble, water; the paper turns wet, Wind; and it rips into."

"That's neat." Atsuko said shyly. "May I try it first Sensei?"

Kakashi gave her his famous closed eye smile, and handed her some paper. She held it for a minute and then it burst into flames, causing her to squeal with fright.

Naruto immediatly doubled over laughing. "Oh man!" He cackled. "You should see your face!"

"H-hey!" She said. "Sh-shut up!!"

Kakashi sighed, and gave Naruto a paper.

It split.

"Woo hoo!" He yelled, waving the it in the air. "I got Wind Style! Im unbeatable! BELIEVE IT!"

Atsuko facepalmed. This boy may be a little cute. But he was arrogant and a total and complete baka.

"Atsuko."

She glanced at the sensei. "Sir?"

"Have you done Shadow Clones before?"

"Oh yes!" She smiled. "It wasn't easy though..."

"Could you please show me?"

"Of course Sensei!" She said, doing her hand signs. 20 clones of the girl appeared, surrounding them.

"N-no way!" Naruto yelled. "On the first try too!"

They all laughed and then Atsuko undid the jutsu then she chuckled and leaned against a tree, feeling tired.

Kakashi seemed to sense, that she'd used a lot of chakra. "How 'bout we call it a day?" He asked, giving her his closed eye smile.

She nodded but Naruto groaned. "Come on Kakashi-sensei!" He growled. "She did one little thing! I've done NOTHING yet!"

"You and I will continue later." Kakashi said, noticing a messanger hawk flying by. "Right now~ Atsuko and I need to report to the Hokage."

"Fine...." Naruto grumbled, first shooting his new team mate a glare and then glaring up at the hawk. "I'll wait for you."

"Well Atsuko, do you think Kakashi would be good as your sensei?" Tsunade asked the girl.

Atsuko nodded, nervously glancing at the door. She had been requested alone first. To discuss some of her.....problems.

"He seems like a really nice man." She said, quietly. "But you know Lady Tsunade....looks can be deceaving...."

Tsunade nodded, and leaned forward. "Atsuko......your one of the strongest Genin I've ever met." She smiled sadly. "It seems that the strongest ninja always have a horrible past."

Atsuko looked down, her voice barely above a whisper. "I miss them all....Kenai. The Iro's. My REAL parents." She stiffened suddenly. "No matter what happens, true Shinobi must never ever show their emotions." She said in a monotone. "The mission is the only priority. Carry that in your heart and never shed a tear.'"

Tsunade closed her eyes and sighed. "Rule 25 of Shinobi conduct hm? Atsuko......truth be told....I don't think it's wise for you to remain by yourself."

Atsuko looked at her confused. "Milady?"

"The way you recited that rule just now...." Tsunade looked into the girls violet eyes. "You said it like a Jônin. Or someone who has witnessed the death of their best friends. Over and over again. Until its almost normal when a comrade dies."

Atsuko sighed. "I'm afraid I can't change that...."

Tsunade frowned. "Atsuko I don't know how you'll feel about this..." She raised her voice. "Kakashi! Enter!"

The Copy ninja walked in and bowed. "Yes ma'am?"

"I called you both here for a reason." Tsunade glared at Kakashi as she spoke. "Kakashi. I want you to adopt Atsuko."

Done. Chapter 1 of my horrible first fanfic is up. *sigh* I'm posting this because it was a dare. Keep in mind. I was NINE when I wrote it. I'll probably rewrite it someday...
