First day of school (Chloe's POV)

I woke up to the sound of my stupid alarm clock buzzing in my ear. I quickly got up to turn it off and then realized "IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!" I quickly ran into my closet and took out the outfit I chose last night. It was a crop top with a jean jacket and jean shorts. I quickly went into my bathroom brushing my teeth and then putting my ombré hair into Dutch braids. I ran downstairs to see eggs and bacon already made for me so I sat down and ate it as quick as I could. I ran to get my backpack on the couch and then ran to the door putting on my converse sneakers hoping that I wouldn't be late for the first day of school.

I ran outside and saw my best friend jade waiting for me except she was calm..? "Why are you so calm? We are gonna be late for school hurry up!" I said while still worrying if we were gonna make it to school in time "Chloe it is fine! We live close to the school remember only a couple of blocks from ur house is the school!" "Oh..right..hehe..I forgot about that part.. Wait Jade why r u dressing so..casual?" "What..? You don't like this oversized hoodie? You bought it for me from my birthday remember?" "Jade I remember I am just saying you are so casual for the first day of school!" We continued debating on school outfits wether they should be casual or not and finally we got to Kersh high (the school we went to) I started to panic, thankful though Jade always being calm, helped me calm down too.

            Next thing we knew some mean girls came by..."Oh hey Jared was it?" "It's Jade butt faced Beth." Said Jade confidently "Hey Jade why are you still in ur sleeping bag? Not like you would have enough money to buy a bed or anything." " Don't mock my hoodie! Chloe brought it for me for my birthday!" "Chloe? You can even buy your own clothes? How pathetic." I just stood there not knowing what to do. Do I defend her or watch? "Chloe really bought that thing for u? I mean it doesn't even look good it looks like a sleeping bag!" "I-I didn't buy it for her." I said trying to defend myself from the bullies "Chloe what do you mean you got this for me remember..?"Jade whispered into my ear confused. "..Oh? So who did buy it for her..?" "I-I don't know, maybe she stole it..?" "CHLOE!" Jade yelled at me furiously and I deserved. "THAT WAS AMAZING! Wow Chloe who knew I could be so mean! And to your own best friend." They walked away with the win for that mini argument

         "Chloe..how..why would you throw me under the bus like that..?" "I'm sorry Jade  I freaked out...I should have never said anything..I should have stood up for you. I'm SO sorry!" And I really was sorry, I didn't want that to happen. "It's...okay chloe just next time stand up for me..okay..?" "I know Jade I promise I will" we hugged it out and she moved on, but I didn't. I didn't stand up for my best friend, the one who was always there even though her life was a disaster, the one who stood up for me. And I should have done the same.
