Perseus.
The great lumbering beast was asleep on one of the many floating rock formations, or floating islands for short. He breathed deeply as his sides heaved. His nostrils flared with every breath. He opened a single eye when he felt movement near his tail. He looked to see his tiny companion climbing the tip of his tail. He smiled and leaned his head over to the tiny specimen. It was a small creature with pinkish-red hair, small wings, and a long tail with a star shape at the end of it. The small female creature squeaked excitedly as she tried to climb the tail of Perseus. He chuckled happily.
"Oh Juno, you'll never climb me!"
A streak of light went across the sky at amazing speed. Perseus lifted his head and watched it pass by.
Ship.
Perseus growled and stood, careful not to topple Juno over. He followed the ships path and etched it land about a 3 miles away. He flared his massive wings and scooped Juno into his claws. He dove off the island and went toward the crash sight. He landed with a loud thud and his eyes widened when he saw the ship before him. It was a sleek black vessel and it landed safely with crashing. Perseus set Juno down and approached, his eyes locked on. When he stood over it he saw a little being inside the flight deck. Perseus huffed and leaned his head closer to get a better view. The creature was unconscious from what he could see, and injured. Juno squeaked out and Perseus grunted in her direction; a warning for her to stay back. He raised a claw carefully and prodded the ship gently. The creature inside stirred and opened its eyes and blinked a few times. It stared up at him through the class of the ship and its mouth opened in what appeared to be a scream. Perseus couldn't hear a sound, due to the glass between them. The creature scrambled away out of view, running deeper into the ship. Perseus lifted a brow in slight confusion; this specimen didn't seem dangerous in the slightest. He walked a small circle around the vessel, trying to see if the creature would come out or not. Nothing. A mild look of annoyance crossed his face. He prodded the ship again, a little harder this time. Perseus jumped back a step when a latter deployed from the side and a small door opened. The little creature came down those steps in the most peculiar manner. He wasn't using his front legs to stable him and he ended up falling the rest of the way to the ground. Perseus leaned his head down and looked this creature up and down. It stood on two legs, had a small patch of red hair on its head, and had a flat face; absent of a snout.
"What are you? You seem injured." Perseus peered at its forearms, which appeared to have been burned severely. The creature cocked its head and stared at him, dumbfounded. Perseus came to the conclusion that the little thing didn't understand his language. He knew it was smart for it arrived in a starship, so it must have a language of its own, correct? Perseus sat back on his haunches and pondered on what to do. He didn't notice the creature slip back into its ship. The small creature returned with a very thick book in its hands. He lifted it up over his little head, offering it to the large beast. Perseus took it and studied the writing; it was nothing he'd even seen before. It clicked in his mind that this must be the creatures language! He must learn it in order to communicate with him. Perseus swept Juno into his arms and moved away from the ship to a quiet place nearby. That is where he stayed for the next week, studying the book and learning the language that was kept within its pages. All the while, he let Juno learn the language along with him, and soon the two were able to understand and speak it. Perseus returned to the ship and the creature with Juno close behind. He leaned his colossal head down and nudged the ship gently. The creature stumbled out and looked up him with wide eyes.
"Can you understand me now?" He spoke as clearly as possible. The little creature nodded his head.
"Y-Yes I can understand. D-Do you know where I am?" The creatures voice was a small squeak compared to Perseus.
"You are currently on Aurora, a moon orbiting the blue gas giant. What is your name and where have you come from?" Perseus leaned his head down.
"M-My name i-is Aaron. I'm a human and my colony ship crashed, or exploded. I-I'm not sure on what really happened." He fiddled nervously and his eyes darted behind Perseus to the small being accompanying him. Juno crept forward on all fours; hesitantly sniffing out towards him.
"Well Aaron, you need to rest, and your arms need healing. Those are some very serious burns you got there." Perseus extended a claw to him, motioning for Aaron to climb into his palm. Aaron hesitated but slowly climbed between the razor sharp talons that threatened to slice him to pieces. Juno climbed on after him; plopping down excitedly.
"Hi! I'm Juno!" A huge smile formed on her face. Aaron looked at her nervously and wasn't sure on what to say. So he sat there in silence, but Juno didn't care whatsoever. She studied his features curiously; running her paws through his red hair and poking his cheeks. She steered clear of his arms for he cradled them close to his chest. Aaron giggled at her antics and struck up an interesting and relaxing conversation with her as Perseus carried them to sanctuary. It was the first time he smiled since the incident.
