Chapter 3- Monster Within The Shadows

*Your P.O.V*

"Well thank you so much again Leonardo, for saving my precious [y/n]," My father graciously shook his hand.
"No need to thank me sir, I'm sure anyone would save a girl as beautiful as your daughter," He grinned giving me a small glance.
"Why yes I suppose so," he chuckled. "Well if you ever need anything, anything, you know where to call,"
"Actually I do need a little favor..." he smirked.
"Of course!"
"Follow me," Leo put his hand on my fathers back, leading him outside.
"Hmm...douche bag," I clenched my teeth, crossing my arms.

*In The Backyard*

"What is it Leo, everything ok???" My father looked at him worried.
"Oh no no no everything is fine it's just...well I really like your daughter Mr. [your last name], like? *chuckles* no I LOVE her, she is everything I could ever want...she's beautiful, smart, handy, creative, funny...wife material if I do say so myself," he gave him a little wink at the end.
"I'm sorry what are you trying to tell me?" Father crossed his arms.
"I'd like to marry [y/n] my good man!" He spread his arms apart for effect "She's perfect for me,"
There was silence for a moment before my father finally broke it with a small chuckle.
"Wait wait wait wait let me get this straight...you...want to MARRY....MY daughter?" Father exaggerated the words "marry" and "my".
"Uuummmm....yes?" Leo stepped back slightly, questioning if he said anything wrong as my father started to laugh, struggling to catch his breath.
"Oohhh that is FUNNY!" He said wiping a tear from his eye.
"Um sir I don't understand???"
"You really think that I would ever let my daughter marry someone like you? Please! Leonardo don't make me laugh," Father chuckled.
"I just saved her from a man-eating wolf!!!! Besides the countless of other times I've gotten her out of trouble!" Leo said getting agitated.
"The answer is NO...move on," My father nudged past him, opening the back door into the house, turning around to tell Leo one last thing. "Oh and get off my land, you're stepping on the petunias," and with that he slammed the door shut.
"MOTHERFUCKER!!!" Leonardo raged as he kicked a couple flowers out of the ground.

*Back Inside The House*

"What happened, what'd he say?" I got up from the couch, walking over to my father in a worry.
"Don't worry about it sweetie, he was asking for your hand in marriage,"
"What did you say!"
"No! I would never ever let you marry a scumbag like him, my daughter only deserves the best," he smiled at me and gave me a short hug. "Now I have to go to the next village for a week or so," he started to gather his belongings for the trip.
"For what?" I asked curiously why my father was leaving for so long.
"Nobody will buy my clocks in this village so I'm going to the next one down, we need money [y/n]," my father said with a serious face.
"Ok but please be careful, since those wolves have been pushed back into the dark woods they barley get any food...I don't think I need to explain any further..." I helped my father with his luggage.
"Don't worry honey I've been going out of the village for what? About 8 years now, I'll be careful ok," he kissed my forehead.
I helped my father with his things on the wagon, hinging Phillip onto the vehicle.
"Oh and father could you get me a rose...for mother..." I asked fiddling with my fingers.
"Of course sweetheart," he smiled and cracked the rope, riding off into the Dark Woods. 
I sighed shaking my head and walked back into the house. My father was getting older, his reflexes were weakening and I was afraid something awful would happen on his journey. But he had Phillip who was a well behaved, strong, fast horse, he'd take good care of my father.
