*MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH WARNING*
My eyesight gets less fuzzy every time I blink. I recognize blurry shapes of trees and I know I'm upside down, being carried around. A dull pain aches from my collar bone. I try to reach it, my arm feeling weirdly heavy, and touch the smooth skin where once Luhan's mark was. My eyes widen in confusion. Where is it? Does this mean-
Only now the tingles sent through my body make sense. My heart thumps loudly at the realization. My heat is gone. My mark is gone. This could only mean-
The person, which I assume is Jungkook, slumps against a tree, making me drop to the ground. I quickly shake my head to clear my mind and look up, feeling extremely lightheaded at the thought of Jungkook having again saved me. But the sight in front of me is everything except of what I expected.
Jungkook's face is contorted in pain, his body smothered in blood and I notice gashes and bite marks everywhere on his once smooth skin. I shuffle forward, trying to form words, anything to comfort him. But seeing the strong alpha all helpless has me shaken and I can't help to wrap the guilt all around me.
"K-Kookie?", I whisper, lightly touching his leg.
His eyes flutter open, the dark orbs flashing red now and then, like he has no control over them. His mouth opens as if saying something but only a scream comes out as he doubles over in agony. I flinch back, scared of what's happening.
"J-Jungkook, please, tell me what's wrong", I shriek, rubbing circles on his legs in a soothing manner.
"N-nothing", he groans. He only now seems to notice my actual presence and smiles softly, "I love you".
A tear slips out, touched by the words and he wipes it away, his arm shaking abnormally.
"You're n-not alright Jungkook. We need to get help", I bite back a sob, searching into his eyes for some explanation.
"I'm okay Tae", he smiles, "It'll all be okay. You're safe now".
"That's only because of you. I-", I bite down onto my lips drawing blood, "I'm sorry you had to see me around Luhan like that".
"I knew it was the heat", he caresses my cheek, "I know you love me".
"And I know you love me", I smile weakly, sniffing from the tears threatening to fall. He opens his arms and I dive into them, nuzzling against his chest, feeling the welcoming fireworks spread through me.
The sun casts a warm glow on us, peeking through the leaves above us. Jungkook slides his hand through my hair. I hear his steady heartbeat once again underneath me, soothing me immediately.
"You know Taehyung", Jungkook starts softly, "When I first saw you I was sure Luhan had gone to heaven and had stolen an angel. You were so scared and innocent, it actually hurt my heart knowing you were my mate. I would be the one ruining that innocent boy, little did I know you had already been through so much torment. I made it my mission to love you forever, so I could make up for all the years of pain and loneliness you went through, so you'd never feel like that again. Obviously I failed".
