I thought that school would be fun, or normal at least. Nothing would ever prepare me for this.
I walked into my last class of the day, English. The smile on my face grew as I sat at my desk, being the only one prepared. My teacher returned the smile. Man, was I ever excited for this class!

I walked out of the room with a glimmer in my eye. I don't know why, I always got that when I was happy! I got on the sidewalk beside the street, going on my phone to play music, then forgetting I didn't have any earbuds. A gust of wind flew through the air, causing goosebumps to grow on my bare arms. Why didn't I bring my jacket? Placing my phone in my pocket, I wrapped my arms around myself in an attempt to become warmer. It's always so cold in this little town. I guess that's what you get for living in one of the northern states. I shivered on my walk home several times, just trying to get home as fast as possible so I could wrap myself in my soft blankets. But no, my house is five miles away. Sighing, I continued the walk.
Eventually, I finally made it to the house. My stomach growled and that made me know that I should eat, so I ordered a pizza. I walked into the bathroom, it's always where I went to get some privacy when I was calling someone. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza, only having to pay twelve dollars for it. That's nothing. I had to wait twenty minutes, which wasn't that long for a pizza. I flipped on the TV and watched the news.
"Breaking news! There has been a mysterious man spotted by Mulholland Drive and the corner of Fremont Street. If you live near there, please lock your doors and don't let anyone in."
I'll know if it's a murderer or not, I'm fine. I mean, I'm thirteen, I can take care of myself. I rolled my eyes and switched the channel, going to NBC where they were playing re-runs of Friends. I placed my feet on the coffee table and relaxed. Ding dong! My relaxation time is over. I got up and quickly jogged to the kitchen, grabbing a twenty from the counter. I got to the front door and opened it. I stuck out the twenty, expecting to have it taken out of my hands and replaced with a box of pizza. I looked up and saw that the man was not a pizza delivery person. My heart stopped.
I tried slamming the door shut, but the man placed his foot in front of it. All hope is gone now. He walked in and slammed the door closed behind him and walked over to me, taking long strides. I trembled and fell to the floor, backing up as he towered over me. He bent down, cocking his head and giving me an evil smirk, making his dark brown hair kind of fall to the side. He took something out of his overcoat jacket, which seemed to be a bottle. Then he took a rag out of his other side, dumping the liquid from the bottle onto the rag. My breathing sped up and I looked at him, but he was too busy in what he was doing to look back at me. After he placed the bottle back in his coat, he took the wet rag and placed it near my face. The smell made me nauseous. He grabbed the back of my head roughly and shoved the cloth in my face, trying to make me breathe.
I learned in school that it takes five minutes to get knocked unconscious from chloroform, so I may have the slightest chance of not passing out. I held my breath, which the man notice, so he pushed on my stomach, causing me to gasp for air. I knew that I wasn't gonna be able to escape this now, so I just stayed calm and kept on breathing into the drug, which was making me dizzy. The man slowly started placing my head down, until it was flat on the ground. I had my eyes closed in defeat, as all I did was breathe in the liquid that weirdly smelt like sweet candy. That's weird. I felt everything become fuzzy and black, and then, the last thing I felt, was my body being picked up from off the ground.
I shouldn't have ordered that pizza...
