Raven's POV:
-Flashback starts-
"Come on!" I yelled as I raced through the intricate alleyways of the city. My bandanna was flapping in the wind while I clutched for dear life on my loot. My brother closely followed behind me, being pursued by two police officers and a police dog.
"Raven! I can't! They're too fast!"
"Come on Robin!" I pulled Robin into a trashcan. The police officers ran past us and we started heavily breathing.
"You okay Raven?" He asked me while handing his loot.
"Yeah. Wait why are you handing me your loot?" I cocked my head to the side.
"I don't want the police trailing mom, dad or you. I'm turning myself in." Robin confronted. Even though the trashcan was dark, I could still see a tear slip down his face.
"Robin! You're six! You have your whole life ahead of you! You can't do that to yourself!" I said hugging him.
"Yeah, but you are five. As your older brother and the eldest in the family, I have to protect you guys. If you die, I will never forgive myself." He pushed open the top and climbed out.
"Robin!" I yelled while tears flooded my face.
"Bye Raven. I love you. Tell mom and dad that I did this for the good of the family." He pushed a locket into my palm and clipped on his own. With that, he left. I was surrounded by trash and the loot, which was food, clothes, and water. I opened the locket that was gold and looked like it had a jet black onyx gem on the front. This obviously expensive, I knew that Robin had stolen this. Inside the locket, there was a picture of Robin and I smiling our stupid, goofy smiles. Tears kept flooding face though. I couldn't stop. Robin was the only person that cared for me. My parents were too worried about how we are going to get a house to care for Robin and I. He was like my guardian. I checked outside the trash can and saw the police clear out. With my beloved brother. I climbed out and started to make my way back to mom and dad. I picked up the pace when I saw a couple of lingering police officers. I found the small, dark, and dingy area where my family lived. It was a small underground nook by the street but it was well covered. I looked over to see my parents laying lifeless inside.
"MOM! DAD! Please wake up! I need you now, more than ever!" I shook their bodies. Nothing. Not even one last breath. I curled up in a ball and cried until I ran out of tears but I still found a way to bawl my eyes out.
-Flashback ends-
