Tomomi walked staggeringly on the side of the street. She was sober with alcohol that she wasn’t used in drinking. She was never a fan of drinking alcohol but that night was an exception. Tomomi couldn’t take it anymore. The feelings were bottling up inside her and she needed to let it out. She really needed to tell that person what she really felt.
Trash cans clattering was heard from that empty street when Tomomi accidentally stumbled on them. She laughed at her clumsiness which reminds her of the reaction of that person gave to her every time she did something clumsy.
“Tomo, please stop this,” Mami rushed over to the drunken girl’s side. “You need to go home and rest. You’re already drunk.”
Mami literally picked Tomomi up, who was sitting with the pile of trash around her. The slightly younger girl obediently stood up and smiled at her best friend. “Mami, I need to tell her,” Tomomi said lowly which Mami couldn’t hear it clearly.
“What did you say, Tomo?” Mami clarified.
“I need to tell about how I feel, Mami. It’s the only way,” Tomomi replied almost making her voice crack. She almost felt crying when she said that but Tomomi knew that she had shed too much tears. She had enough and wanted to be strong like that person.
Tomomi started walking, in a zigzag way, again and left Mami along with the pile of trash. She then stopped in front of a very familiar house and grabbed the steel bars of the front gate.
Tomomi opened the gate and slowly made her way to the stoned pavements leading to the house’s front door. “Tomo, I suggest you to turn around now and go home before you’ll end up hurting yourself again.” Mami said in a whispered shout to the girl who is now standing at the front door.
“Shut up, Mami! I’m doing this my way and you can’t stop me!” Tomomi yelled at her blonde friend. Now Mami is deeply regretting for taking Tomomi on drinking. She thought that her friend will loosen up and relax from all that emotional stress and maybe can hook up with someone along the way.
Mami sighed as she looked at the messed up Tomomi, courtesy of a shot of tequila, two shots of vodka, and five glasses of beer. “It’s two in the morning you dimwit! How sure are you that she’s still awake?” The blonde scolded.
“Of course, I’m so stupid,” Tomomi answered smiling. Mami sighed in relief that her friend finally thought of something that made sense. “I should call her now to check if she’s still awake,” Tomomi dug out her phone from her pocket. Mami face palmed for getting her hopes up about Tomomi’s losing case of being a drunken idiot.
Tomomi waited for her call to be answered as she leaned her back at the front door. “T-tomomi, why are you calling this late?” The person finally picked up.
“Are you awake?” Tomomi ignored the other person’s question.
“Yes, I am now. Why are you calling?” The person answered with a hint of irritation in her voice.
“I need to talk to you, Haru.” Tomomi retorted pleadingly.
“Are you drunk?” Haruna asked suspiciously.
