"He sure looks bad, doesn't he," I ask with a sigh. Rin, who currently is the only other person in the room, nods without saying a thing. I look at Salem, his crippled body laying in the hospital bed. He really took a hard hit there. I'm a little surprised he's not dead, but he's been through much worse in the past. Both his arms cut off, broken limbs, and worst of all he was blown to bits. Jesus, he looked horrible then. I could barely look at him on the operating table when we had to attach the replacement limbs. It's a wonder how a man could lose massive amounts of blood on almost a daily basis, and survive a close up explosion. Seems to me he's virtually indestructible, but another part of me says he'll die from something stupid or small. Something that was just a scrape on the knee compared to all the rest of the shit he's been through.

"When do you think he'll be up again," Rin asks. It's about time she said something, I thought something was wrong with her. She and Salem, well, don't meet eye to eye. They have to cooperate though. Deep down, she must have at least a little care for the fool.

"I don't have a clue. Doc didn't give any estimate. It's pretty hard to tell anyways, he's real broken. Since it's Salem, though, he'll be up soon." She nods and sits down on a nearby chair, thinking about something. I take a seat next to Salem's resting place and tap a beat to a song on my knee, trying to resist the urge to drink.

"Where do you think Demacia went?"

"I haven't the slightest clue," I say. That's right, Demacia was just gone when we got there. It was so strange. We all saw Salem jump off and grab him, and I had the red guy pinned down. He fled after I let go of him, but he didn't even go near the kid down there. Salem's arms were empty, still in the holding position, but empty. Who could've taken him so fast? Damn, now I regret letting the slimy bastard in red go. We could've gotten where him and any of his accomplices were hiding out, since I assume one of his friends took the kid. Now we don't have a lead to branch out on. I for one don't want to lose the little guy, and want to find him. I may be a horrible, cruel person, but I have a small place in my cold heart that wants to do something about this.

"Hey, Kuru," Rin's voice breaks my train of thought.I shake my head slightly, I must have been spacing out.

    "Yo?"

"You got a girl," She asks in the same calm yet cold tone she always has. Well that just ruined my thought process completely. I reach for a drink inside my jacket but catch my hand.

"No? What makes you ask such a question?" A malicious grin spreads across her face.

"Just making small talk" I raise an eyebrow. That was an obvious lie, you can easily tell by that grin of hers. I lean out of my seat, staring at her.

"Somehow I don't believe that was just 'small talk'. What is it that you're getting at, girl?" She chuckles, shaking her head.

"You're hopeless, huh?" She gets up and strides over to me, then grabs my shirt and lifts me up to her.

"Whoa there, calm your hormones-" She blocks me off with a deep kiss. Her tongue pushes through my lips in an instant. Well, that caught me off guard. I was joking at first, but...Eh? What's this? She slipped some kind of fluid into my mouth, I feel it. I attempt to pull away, but she only pushes it down further, forcing me to down whatever she swapped into my mouth. I start to feel weaker and more sensitive to her touch. I've been drugged before, but this is way different. She rests a hand on my cheek for a grip and I twitch a little. Whatever she put into me, it's working. She pulls away.

"Fufufu, you're too easy." I try to say something, but can't form the words. I give in, and allow her to do what she pleases.
