Welcome to One on One with MTV! -smiles- I'm Maria, and I'm the TV show host! -laughs- now, this week, all week long, is CrazySexyCool week in honor of TLC's hot new album selling 4 million copies so far in the United States, and 3 million worldwide! -points to their picture on the screen- this means that all week, you get music videos, rare behind the scenes moments from makings of the videos from their first album, Ooooooohhh, On The TLC Tip, and interviews from people close to the girls, like their niece Naiyeli, Chilli's brother in law Johnny, Left Eye's only sister Raina, her mother Wanda, stylist Julie Mijares, L.A. -listens for the music to stop and nods when it does- Starting this day off, we're going to show you an interview with Naiyeli Sanchez, the niece of TLC, and also, assistant stylist.
~Interview Date: March 10, 1994~
Reagan: [smiling] Hello Naiyeli! Welcome to MTV!
Naiyeli: [smiles and waves] Ayooo! MTV! What's poppin?
Reagan: [laughing] it's all good, it's perfect really, especially after you showed Nancy your skills in pulling pranks.
Naiyeli: [laughs] Pranks are my thing ya know?
Reagan: [nods] definitely. Now, you're the niece and assistant stylist of TLC. How'd that happen? Especially at 15?
Naiyeli: [thinks for a moment] Well, I was about 13. What had happened was, I made this little booklet full of things I wished to design. Magically, it turned into a book full of random designs, and aunty Tionne... oops, [laughs] I mean T-Boz..looked at it when I left it on her table. I guess the next day she showed Left Eye and Chilli, and they liked them. Since then I've been helping Julie Mijares design things for their new album since they wanted it to be mature.
Reagan: [nods] you mean like..they wanted to ditch the colorful clothes and condoms?
Naiyeli: that's exactly what I mean.
Reagan: Now, out of all of your aunts, who's the most caring? Most interesting? Most hilarious?
Naiyeli: [laughs] See! Now that's where I get stuck! Because I have so many. There's aunty Jo, aunty Raina, aunty Suzette, aunty Ro, and aunty Lisa! Lets see, I'd say aunty Lisa is all three. She's really the most special out of all of them..not saying anything bad about the others, because aunty Ro, Raina, and aunty Tionne are special too, but [pauses] Miss Left Eye was born with so much energy and all that. It's almost like you're looking at a star.
Reagan: So much energy? What do you mean?
Naiyeli: I mean, like there's this vibrant way about her. She always has been funky, crazy creative. Then she always...[shakes head] and she has a problem with this. Like, she'll know someone's bad, but she'll still keep em around, keep helping em. On the upside, she does so much charity and volunteer work. she's like Michael Jackson, but in Carmen Jones' body.
~On the fire~
Naiyeli: To be honest, when people come up to me and say, "Oh, your aunt is crazy for burning the house down," or, maybe "What she did was really stupid." I have to get defensive and set them straight, because it's like...you have absolutely no idea what happened. You didn't see what happened that night that led to anything, therefore, you honestly can't say anything about it.
Reagan: [lifts eyebrows] So you know what happened that night?
Naiyeli: [nods] I do. But I'm not going to tell her story, she's going to do so when she's ready. People have to learn to respect her privacy is all.
~On T-Boz~
Naiyeli: [laughs] whoo! Now that one right there! T-Boz is definitely a great person. Most people think she isn't approachable because of the way she carries herself, but in all honesty she's really approachable and fun to be around. Lawd, and she takes video gaming seriously!
Reagan: [grins] she's into video games?
Naiyeli: All three of them are. But T is the one who'll beat you and brag it in your face non stop for a whole week. One time, me and her played on the sega genesis, and when she won, she wouldn't let me hear the end of it!! [chuckles] it's like she won the damn Olympics or something ! She also has this emotional side we'd never seen before. It makes you go "Oooh, yes honey!"
~On Chilli~
Naiyeli: [waves] Chilli is, Miss Personality. She's always affectionate, showing so much love. I think, if you meet her for the first time, then [snaps] you fall in love like that. All three of them are chicks you fall in love with real easy. But make sure with Chilli you give the affection back.

Reagan: Now, we haven't gotten any music videos from this album just yet, so can you tell us what's the first song they decided to release as a single?
Naiyeli: I can't give you the exact name, but I CAN tell you, it's going to be something amazing. Honest.
Reagan: I've listened to the album, and I know I love it. I'm especially in love with the album title, who came up with it?
Naiyeli: Left Eye came up with that. I don't know the full story of it, but I'm sure she'll tell you if ya ask her. [laughs].
Reagan: [laughs and smiles] I'll be sure to do that. Now one more question. Word on the street is TLC has two different meanings. Do you know anything about that?
Naiyeli: [giggling] Ah, you mean T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli....and Titty Less Crew
Reagan: [bursts into laughter] Titty Less Crew?! What?
Naiyeli: See, here's the thing, they all wear an A cup size, so these girls that were background dancers [looks at the camera] we call them the wench mob, started calling them that. But there ain't no shame cuz we're in A cups [laughs again]
Reagan: [music starts] Well thank you Naiyeli, I really enjoyed this interview with you
Naiyeli: Ain't no problem, I had fun. [stands up and grabs watergun] now I gots to go prank some people. Wanna come?
