Well, hiyah! *waves and smiles* I'm Kaylan, and welcome back to One On One With MTV ! As you remember, it's a CrazySexyCool week in honor of TLC's hot new album staying #1. Beating out Michael Jackson and Nirvana for the top 3 selling about 20,000 copies every day! Now, here's the interview our very own Reagan, had with the chilled out member of TLC.
Reagan : [smiles] Hi T-Boz
T-Boz : [smiles and nods] Hey hey hey! How's it going?
Reagan : [laughs] It's going pretty well. For starters, I would like to congratulate you on CrazySexyCool, the album is very amazing.
T-Boz : [smiling] Thank you. It's actually my favorite album so far, you know? The songs are tight, and the first video we're making for the single we plan on releasing first, it's.. well it's coming in okay.
Reagan : [nodding] We're excited to see what you guys have planned! I'm sure it's fantastic. Now, I heard 2 members of your group are married, what about you?
T-Boz : [shrugs] I'm not engaged anymore, and me and my ex aren't together if that's what you mean.
Reagan : [looks at her] So, you are single?
T-Boz : I'm not dating, but I am seeing someone.
Reagan : Mind giving a name?
T-Boz : You know Dalvin? From Jodeci? That's him.
Reagan : [smiles] Dalvin DeGrate? Oh, you two sound like you'd make a cute couple
T-Boz : [laughs] well ya know!
Reagan : [leans forward] As we all know, Left Eye secretly tied the knot last month, how is her relationship coming along?
T-Boz : [covers face] Oh lawd! Brandon is going to kill me for saying this! But [laughs] Lisa has him wrapped around her little finger. It's cute though.
Reagan : Aw! Do they have.. a Courtney Love-Kurt Cobain type relationship? Or Bobby-Whitney type?
T-Boz : You ever seen that show Martin?
Reagan : Comes on VH1? Yeah, I've seen it.
T-Boz : Well their relationship is like Martin and Gina. They are probably the most adventurous couple [grinning] but, I realized that Brandon is that puzzle piece Left Eye was always talking about.
Reagan : Puzzle piece?
T-Boz : [nodding] She would always say "Each part of my dream life needs a puzzle piece. First it's to become famous." She did that one first. "Next would be to find the right guy." She did that one second, and she's happy with it. I know one of her little puzzle pieces was to have children, so we have to wait and see for that. But she's constantly coming up with new dreams, so instead of a four piece puzzle, she might end up with a 100 piece.
Reagan : [smiling] That is really interesting. [taps pen against leg] now, as I'm sure you've heard, people have said your group member was crazy because of the fire incident. Has anyone ever come up to you and say it?
T-Boz : [thinks] Well dag, yeah they have actually. One time I had a man come up to me and just say "Oh, that no good Lisa Lopes will do anything for attention." and I had to put him back into order. For starters, don't disrespect my sister like that. What happened that night isn't anyone's business, so there's no need for the rude opinion. Two, what she did was accidental, had you probably been in her shoes you would've done the same thing. She was hurt, but no one knows that because the media seems to make it look like she's the bad guy.
Reagan : Now we all know Left Eye seems to have an I-Don't-Care attitude, but do you think what people say about her makes her sad or upset?
T-Boz : [sits quietly for a few minutes before answering] You know what? She tries to brush things off, but I can tell, Chilli too, that it hurts her to an extent. There's this thing with her, where she can just hold back, and hold back, but eventually, she does explode. When she finally does, she'll start to cry.. or she'll go into the studio and turn her anger into a rap.
Reagan : She keeps things hidden deep down?
T-Boz : Yeah that's what she does.
Reagan : Wow. [writes on paper] she can do better than me, I know that's for sure.
-On CrazySexyCool staying on #1-
T-Boz : That is the most exciting thing really. Because the last we heard it was us at number 1, Nirvana at number 2, Michael Jackson at number 3, Tupac at number 4, Aaliyah at number 5, Selena at number 6, En Vogue at number 7, Biggie at number 8, Toni Braxton at number 9, and Kris Kross at number 10. So it's like, all these artists (except Aaliyah) that were out before us are under us, and we're on their superstar status now according to some people. This is the kind of stuff I used to dream about in my room back at home in Iowa. We're really lucky.
- On Chilli's personality-
T-Boz : [laughing] Chilli is the most flirty and romantic out of all of us. It's like she just comes around with this big bucket of affection and shares it. She can win a heart [snaps fingers] just like that. It's amazing really.
- On Left Eye's personality-
T-Boz : Lisa. Nicole. Lopes. That's Left Eye's whole name y'all [smiles] she is too funny to me. She's a character. She's really good in the creative department, like, when we first met, she'd sew clothes without a pattern and be going around asking people "Want these?" and I was like, "dang, she's really good with her fingers." and stuff like that. Left Eye can also play classical music on the piano. [laughs] it was never something I could relate to, all that liberace and Beethoven, but she's super duper talented in the music department.
- On sickle cell anemia-
T-Boz : Back in 1992, everyone found out I suffer from sickle cell anemia. It's where my blood cells turn into these sickle like things, and get stuck while traveling through my body. It blocks my blood flow and can be really painful, but I don't want people feeling sorry for me, because I don't feel sorry for myself.
Reagan : Do you have to eat anything special? Like to stay healthy?
T-Boz : Well uh, when I was little my doctor made me drink baby formula to stay healthy, but now since I'm an adult, I have a special doctor that comes to my house and helps me. I have to drink these vitamin shakes though.

T-Boz : [nods and stands up] Oh yeah, you can learn how we dance if you want. [smiles into the camera] see ya later!
