The sun shining through the parted curtains, declared morning. Tatiana slept in a peaceful slumber, as the sun hit her eyes she had the urge to start her day by taking jade crystals but decided against it .
'Every day goes the same . Get up, go to Kings Union, spend five hours there . Go to the library, study. Come back home only to have mom gone for work, walk through a hall echoing with erotic sounds . Pass some eyes holding weary emotions . Come back to the the attic which I call my room . Pray for a different and more exciting tomorrow. Sleep.and repeat' as she planned to dose for just about a day, but fate decided against it as the door burst open with a hyperactive Payton rushing through the doors . ''Tatiana wake up, its 8:15 already we need to take a bath, dress up , eat breakfast and catch the 9 o'clock bus. How are we going to do all of this in less than an hour??? .''
Tatiana groaned and took a look at her side table clock and made a sound which notified Payton she is unpleased '' It's only 6:30 into the morning Payton!!! Please, for all our sakes, its high time you set your watch right!!!''
"6:45 to be exact " Payton protested "come on now my lazy Tania get your self out of bed and in to the shower or I will have to start belting out Whitney Houston in my incredibly melodic voice" Payton said.
Payton had a voice which would make Michael Jackson rise from his grave and beg her to shut up .... she was that 'good' "AND IIIIIEIIIIIEEI WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUUUUU"
Payton screeched and that was it, Tania was wide awake but before she could even think of an insult she had the girl from the room opposite her scream "Tell that noisy pig to shut the hell up not every one got an off yesterday like her " Tania laughs at Payton as she lip mimics the girl yelling.
After a long arguement Tania jumped out of bed and rushed to the washroom. She brushes and strips down to take a shower. She looked at herself in the wall mirror , to find a girl standing at 5foot6inches , pale skin complexion, beautiful jade eyes , light brown hair in gentle curls falling till her upper thighs . Tania was a perfect hour glass shape . A body which left men drooling over her and a face which made girls gawk at her and trying the best to find out her secrets. But the truth was she didn't have any, this doll like face and a body of a godess was all natural. No makeup , no products and no corsets just plain old her. Tania jumped in the shower and let the hot water cascade down her body . She let out a sigh.
She drifted in her thoughts picturing a bright future ahead of her. Having her very own home, getting her mom out of the shackles of debt she was currently ankle deep in and living far away from this place. Along the way meet a man with a warm, kind heart. A man that looks at her like its just her for him and him for her and nothing else in the world matters but them. Makes passionate sweet love to her and makes her forget all of her worries . Tania wanted all of it especially the idol lover but destiny always surprised her with something totally and completely off track compared to what she wanted.
"Okay it's definitely 8:15 now!!!!" Payton yells making tania snap out of her stance.
She draped herself in a towel and rushed to her closet. Pulling out a light yellow sundress and pairing it with a soft grey shrug , she put on black ballerina shoes and her black back pack. She looks at herself one last time in the mirror and brushes her long hair. Usually she would pull it up in a bun but today she just let it fall in its natural beauty. She checked to see that she had every thing and moved to Payton's room.
She found Payton draped in a towel and staring at her closet blankly "And you tell me that I'm the cause of us bring late. " Payton looked at her with panic in her eyes.
"I have absolutely noting to wear please make breakfast for us or we will definitely be late''Payton says pointing at her overflowing closet . Tania sighs and agrees to make breakfast for them
She rushed to the kitchen and then took out a packet of bread and took two slices and puts them to toast then she pulled out 2 eggs and made an egg sunday for her and Payton. She pulled out a couple of bacon strips from the fridge and put three pieces to cook in the pan.
She pulled out 2 plates and placed all the food on them and proceeded to make coffee for Payton and tea for herself. She kept all these on the kitchens small dining area and waited for payton
Just then her mother entered the kitchen with a limping leg and red marks all over her neck ... she looked in pain which caused tatiana to be in pain . Tania ran to her mom and helped her sit down on the chair. She knelt down with teary eyes in front of her injured mother.
"Maa, are you okay?" she asked with concern. Tania's mother, Sandrin, wiped Tania's teary eyes and that tugs a small smile on Tania's lips "I am now " Sandrin says.
Just then Payton walks in the kitchen and looks at the scene and looks at Sandrin and says "Good morning maa", even though payton isn't really Sandrin's daughter she had been calling Sandrin ' maa', ever since she started to speak and Sandrin never had the heart to stop her.
Sandrin was badly hurt by the brutal actions of her last customer however she kept quiet as she knew that if she utters a single sound of discomfort tania and payton will annoy the bajeevees out of her by asking her if she is okay a million times.
"Come on now my two little brats, eat up and leave" Tania and Payton sit and start eating quickly as Sandrin leaves.
They leave the house by 8:30 and walk to the bus stop.
"Oh Payton how I wish I could get mom out of this hell of a world . Every time I look at those marks it makes me feel so guilty that I am one of the reasons why she goes through all these struggles, it seems like those men really hurt her " Tania says while taking short strides to the bus stop
"It is worse than what it seems Tanga, all the men that come for us, they treat us like rag dolls. They look at us as a thing to release their stress on. If they even stop for a second and let us take a breather we are so grateful.. its a living hell Tania each night when i have to plaster a fake smile and a welcoming gesture to those greedy men. I feel like absolute trash" Payton says
Behind those bright blue eyes and mischievous grin, Payton did have her own battle, A life of a prostitute , university on top of that, and a hope for a better future ahead.
Soon the bus came and the girls boarded it . The two best friends found true happiness in each others company.
