I ran as fast as I could, the wind brushing at my face. My heart beating faster than a cheetah going after its prey. Panic was all that I felt, coursing through my veins. I think it was the only thing that kept me going. My feet hurt because of all the running. The sirens from the cop cars were ringing through my ears. The red and blue lights were the only thing shining in the dark and empty night. I wasn't sure where exactly I was heading to, but I kept going. I couldn't stop. If I did, I'd be back in that horrible prison cell with no choice but to think. I couldn't afford to think. Everytime I did, the hole in my chest would start aching again.

Memories of my life before what happened would fly through my mind. My life used to be normal, almost perfect. I had loving parents, two baby sisters who would run around the house laughing and giggling, I excelled at school and I had lots of friends.

"Mom!" I groaned,"I'll be fine!"

My mom smiled sadly, a tear escaping her eyes. I was going away for summer camp. A full eight weeks without seeing my family. I had mixed emotions. I was sad because I was leaving my family, but happy because I got to spend eight weeks rooming with my best friend Abby. She and I have been planning about this summer since school started. We were headed to high school next semester and we wanted to experience everything we needed to before it started.

"I'm so proud of you honey, take care. Please call me everyday," my mom said, giving me a hug.

"Yeah, Mom, I promise."

I turned over to my dad and sisters and said goodbye. After I hugged each of them, I walked through the gates of the camp.

The first face I saw was of my best friend. She was grinning from ear to ear. Her green eyes sparkling. Her red, wavy hair was braided to the side. She wore a floral sundress and a short sleeved jean jacket. I ran over to her.

"Oh my God, Abby! I've missed you!" I squealed and hugged her. She hugged me back almost instantly.

"I know! Me too! I have some gossip I need to tell you."

"Spill!" I said. I always love gossip.

"Wait. First we should go to the cabin we'll be staying in," she said.

"Oh yeah! Right. Let's go!"

We were walking to the cabin when I bumped into someone. The person was carrying alot of pots- don't ask me why- and they fell on the ground making a loud sound.

"Oh! Crap! I'm so sorry!" I said and bent down to help clean up. The person bent down as well and started stacking the pots on top of each other. He looked at me coldly. His brown eyes, dark and mysterious. His brown, messy hair was really attractive. To say he was hot was an under statement.

"Watch where you're going!" he said, anger clear in his voice. I started to get angry. I knew I bumped into him but it was an accident.

"Jeez, I said I was sorry. It was an accident and I was paying attention to where I was going, but you came out of nowhere. You don't have to be so rude!" I glared at him. His face was a little shocked, but he recomposed himself.

"Whatever," he said and stalked off, pots in hand.

"Woah Nor, that was impressive," Abby said and helped me up. I forgot she was even there.

"Uh thanks, do you even know who he is?" I asked. She smirked.

"Yeah, that was actually the gossip I was gonna tell you about. His name is Kian Thomas. Total hottie but he's really mysterious. He's a troublemaker. He already got cleanup committee because of trashing the camp director's car," she giggled.
