What the hell, Norah?!" Kian yelled as I got in his car. I put my hands over my ears. Damn, his screams are loud when he's mad.
“Shut up! You're giving me a headache."
“Why did you put a donut in a cop's face? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard," he started laughing. Why did his laugh have to be so damn sexy?
“He was bothering me," I said, stubbornly crossing my arms against my chest.
“But you were chased by cop cars. You had to have done something else."
“Well, yeah, I may or may not have trashed his car," I said sheepishly.
“Why didn't you bring me with you? I could've helped you hide or something.”
“Kian, you can't always protect me. I'm not your little sister.”
“I know but you're my best friend and I don't know what I would do if something happened to you," he said in a baby voice, grabbing my cheeks. I felt butterflies all over my stomach, but I decided to act naturally. I groaned and slapped his hand.
“Can you not?” I said with sass.
“Fiesty, I see," he said. I rolled my eyes.
“You know I'm always like that."
“True, but not when I first met you."
He started driving through the dim lit road.
“That was a long time ago," I said.
“Three years is not such a long time," he said matter of factly. I raised my eyebrows.
“To me it is.”
“Whatever. Jonah invited us to his party tonight. Wanna go?" he asked.
“Yeah, let's go!” I said, throwing my hands up in excitement.
I always loved Jonah's parties. They were the best. He was one of my closest friends. He was sort of a man whore and he acted all bad and stuff, but he is really the nicest guy.
“Okay,” he simply said and drove the short way to Jonah's house. We pulled up the long driveway. It was full of cars. Dim lights covered the front yard of the huge mansion and I could feel the music's beat on the seat of the car. I smiled. I was so ready to get drunk and have fun. I've had a really long day.
As soon as Kian parked the car, I jumped off. Kian got off and muttered, “Someone's excited."
“I am. I already wanna get drunk and play beer pong!" I said. He chuckled.
“Let's go then!" he screamed. There were some drunk people running around the front yard and I couldn't help but laugh at a guy that was running around in his underwear screaming “I'm free!”
Inside the familiar huge house, there was people pressing against each other and dancing all over the place. I checked to see if Kian was next to me and he grabbed my hand to make sure I was safe. I felt warmth come over me. I blushed deeply and thanked God that the room was only lit by colorful spot lights. I looked around to see if Jonah was anywhere around, but I didn't see him.
“Where do you think Jonah is?" I asked Kian.
“I don't know. Let's check in the kitchen," he said. I nodded and we pushed through the crowd and headed for the kitchen.
There was less people there and my eyes searched for Jonah. I still couldn't see him. Kian dropped my hand and I suddenly felt empty.
“Imma go get something to drink," he said.
