Hermione rubbed at her eyes tiredly. It was a little past midnight, and she was still up doing the rest of the essays for Ron. Harry was finally taking the subjects for his level, after Ron assured him that he could manage, but it turned out Harry was absolutely fine with the harder subjects, and Ron was still struggling, so as Hermione's duty as a loyal caring girlfriend, she helped him finish it. She yawned, and finished off the last line. She drank the last of her hot chocolate, and stretched and started packing up. She lay Ron's essays onto he golden trio's table, and stuffed her books into her bag. She twirled her wand lazily, and her robes and uniform flew off, to be replaced by a set of rose pink pajamas. Stashing her bag in the locker, she turned and made her way to the girl dorm's stairs when-

A shadow moved across the top of the stairs. Hermione froze. "Who's there?" She called nervously, brandishing her wand. The shadow moved into the light. Lavender brushed back her springy blond hair, and blinked at Hermione. "Hermione?"

Hermione relaxed. "Oh. it's just you." Then she realized Lavender was in perfect make up and wearing a short violet glittery dress. She blinked. "Where are you going?"

Lavender blushed. "Umm, well, off to see a... umm, friend?"

Hermione laugh-sighed. "Another boyfriend?"

Lavender nodded. Hermione sighed and waved her away. "Go on, off you go." Lavender grinned and scampered towards the portrait hole. Before she left, Hermione heard her whisper "But he said he would be here... and you wouldn't."

Hermione yawned again and walked up the stairs. She heard someone say "Mione?"

She turned to find Ron. Ron stared at her, his hair mussed up. His face was shocked. Hermione smiled. "Did you come to find me or to eat?" Ron blushed. "A little of both." he mumbled.

Hermione smiled. "What did I do to deserve such a sweet boyfriend?"

She climbed up the stairs and fell into her bed. Just before she fell asleep, there was a niggling thought about the coincidence of Ron and Lavender's appearances, but before she could chase those thoughts more, she fell asleep.

Ron talked at Harry. "...then she wasn't asleep and she ruined everything! She's so boring and I dot think we fit anymore! Mate, help me out. . . Harry?"

Harry was fast asleep.
