Brittany's POV

September

Light tapping against my window causes my eyes to squint open. My room is still dark but I can see that it isn't completely dark outside. I glance at my alarm clock and groan when I see that I have to be to work in one hour. I turn away from the window and look at my sleeping boyfriend.

Sam and I met in high school and became really close friends. We started dating right after graduation and a year after that we were moving to New York. Sam had been offered a modeling contract and refused to go without me. How could I not say yes?

Reluctantly I climb out of bed and make my way through our small apartment and into the bathroom to freshen up. Luckily I only live a few minutes away from my job so I'm able to take my time and actually enjoy my shower.

I'm a waitress at this restaurant called the 'Sunset Lounge'. It got it's name because no matter where you sit you're able to view an amazing sunset. The restaurant is known for it's lavish menu and wine selection. Although most of the people that dine there are snobby they leave good tips so I try to keep a smile on my face.

I never wanted to wait tables but after moving away from home I needed a job to help pay the bills. Although my parents didn't want me to leave home they gave me enough money to live off of for the first year but when that ran out Sam and I were on our own.

Things have been tough and although I'm content with my life I can't help but wonder what it would be like to have more. More of what? I have no idea but I still like to think about it. Whatever 'IT' is.

I make it to work with plenty of time to spare and greet my two best friends as I walk in. I met Blaine and Marley the day I started working here. Blaine is very charming and kind. Marley is funny and a little dorky. They welcomed me with open arms and we all just kinda clicked.

The three of us prep the dining area for service and discuss what we did over the weekend. Marley sweeps the floor while I wipe down the tables and Blaine wipes down the chairs.

Marley:Blaine you go first?

Blaine:Well....I hooked up with someone?

Brittany:(Looks at Blaine)Seriously?

Blaine:(Smiles brightly and nods).

Marley:No way. You haven't been with anyone since Kurt.

Blaine:I know and if I'm being honest it was amazing. I forgot that sex could feel so...good.

Marley:Congrats on the lay pal.

Brittany:(Laughs softly and shakes her head).

Blaine:(Smiles)Your turn Brittany. Tell us about your weekend activities.

Brittany:Oh you know. Movies, dinners that kind of stuff.

Marley:Another weekend alone huh?

Brittany:(Sighs)Yup.

Blaine:Brittany I honestly don't see why you're still with that guy. He's a good guy but he's a terrible boyfriend.

Brittany:He wasn't always like that. Before he started getting attention for his work he would plan dates for us and buy me flowers.
