Chapter Two ▫ Embarrassment.

Brittany's POV

When Sam told me about the people that would be attending this event I assumed the venue would be over the top and flashy. However the actual venue is simple yet still very elegant. It's a large grey two story building with tall floor to ceiling glass windows and 'Red Rose Studios' located on the building above the entrance. The exterior gives off a very professional and business type of vibe.

For the event valet and security are placed outside along with tons of guests having conversations and drinking. The inside of the venue is all white with two black staircases located on the left and right side of the room leading to the second floor. Sparkly gold chandeliers hang from the tall ceiling and the walls are covered in various paintings.
There's over a hundred people scattered throughout the gallery admiring the different pieces as servers walk around with drinks and food.

With drinks in our hands Sam and I walk around the gallery and search for Jacob. I'm only able to glance casually at a few pieces but make a mental note of which ones I really want to come back to. Sam stops to greet a few people and exchange his empty glass for a full one once or twice. Meanwhile I remain attached to his hip and quietly sip on my white wine.

"Is that Sam Evans?"

Sam:(Turns around)Jacob we were just looking for you.

Jacob:(Smiles and looks at Brittany)Hey Brittany I'm glad you could make it tonight. I haven't seen you in a few months.

Brittany:I'm glad Sam asked me to come. Congratulations by the way. It's about time someone noticed your talent.

Jacob:I knew there was a reason I liked you more than I liked Sam.

Brittany:(Laughs softly).

Sam:Oh whatever.

Brittany:(Kisses Sam's cheek then looks at Jacob)Are you excited?

Jacob:(Sips his drink)Hell yeah. This event is being hosted by one of the biggest artist in New York. To have my art up in one of her galleries is an honor.

Brittany:I'm really happy for you.

Jacob:(Smiles)Thank you.

Sam:Hey have you seen that agent guy you were telling me about?

Jacob:No but I did see Alex I'm sure she knows where he is.

Sam:(Looks at Brittany)Hey babe Jacob and I are gonna mingle. Are you alright on your own for a bit?

Brittany:(Glances at Jacob then looks at Sam)Seriously?

Sam:What?

Brittany:Jacob could you excuse us for a minute?

Jacob:Yeah no problem. I should be mingling anyway. I'll see you guys a little later.

Brittany:Congrats again.

Jacob:(Smiles)Thank you. (Walks away).

Brittany:(Leads Sam away from the crowd).

Sam:(Follows Brittany)Britt what's wrong?

Brittany:(Turns around and looks at Sam)We've been here for less than an hour and you're trying to ditch me already. I thought this was a date.

Sam:Babe I'm not trying to ditch you. I'm just...multitasking. You and I get to enjoy our date while I also try to get in good with an amazing modeling agent. This is big for me Britt.

Brittany:I can't believe it. You knew this agent guy was gonna be here. This isn't a date. It's just another opportunity for you.
