Day 3: The Past

Zaran was almost dead but before death,  Zaran somehow managed to call the police. By the time police reached the crime scene, Zaran was dead. This was the 3rd unsolved Stabber case since New Year. Inspector Anurag and team inspected the site for some clues. Meanwhile Sam arrived. Sam realized that all the three killings were committed at 12 am. There were many blood spots on victims mobile. When Sam opened the number keyboard, the spots matched with the emergency police number. The victim had formatted his phone before dieing. When Sam opened the QWERTY keyboard, the marks matched many alphabets. Sam requested a cyber-cell officer to give him details about all the possible sentences and words which can be formed using these keywords.
Sam requested Anurag to give information about Zaran.
Anurag: Zaran was a criminal; he once helped the police to find the drug centers as our informer. But, later we recognized that he was working for a secret drugs agency which wanted all its competition to get over! Since the day we realized, I have seen Zaran for the first time.
Sam: Even Saket was involved in criminal activities. This means 2 of the kills this year were of criminals. Inspector Anurag, can you help me find a relation between Zaran and Saket. I'll also need a list of people knowing them in common.
Anurag: I'll do that detective!

5:00 am

Saurav was sleeping in his bedroom when suddenly his mobile began to ring. Few minutes later his landline also began to ring. Minutes later his doorbell started to ring. Saurav woke up but was confused on what to attend first. He decided to open the door first. When Saurav opened the door, John was standing in front of him.
Saurav: What’s it John? Why do you look so weird?
John: Your art gallery is on fire Saurav. All the paintings are burning!
Saurav was shocked to hear this. He immediately went to his art gallery. The fire brigade was continuously trying to control the fire but the effort was useless because fire has already destroyed all his paintings. Saurav was confused about what should be done next.

7:00 am

Anurag and Sam reached Divesh Kamble's house. Divesh welcomed Anurag and Sam in a royal manner.
Sam: Since we have to spend the entire day together, please tell us the history related to The Drowning Ship.
Divesh: It will be my pleasure sir!
The Drowning Ship which was actually given its name after a painting of it. But, in history it is commonly referred as the ship which carried an empire. It is years before when King Vasikaran ruled over the Shanya Empire. King Vasikaran was very smart in terms of designing various structures. So he generally used to spend most of his time with his architects and used to make beautiful structures for empire to look beautiful. However, he wasn't a big warrior and hence he had a warrior named Tarya who lead his army as a chief. It wasn't easy to beat Tarya but beating him was equivalent to beating the king and hence many other Kings fought with Tarya. As days passed due to the increasing frequency of wars and decreasing number of soldiers, Tarya was losing his strength.
Then there was King Rajkiran who finally killed Tarya and defeated Vasikaran's army. Rajkiran with all of his army was marching towards Shanya Empire and Vasikaran had no idea about what has to be done. This time again Vasikaran depended upon his architectural skills and with the help of his architects and builders, he builds a ship which was meant to carry the entire empire over it. The boat was so huge and massive that Vasikaran sent its paper design to all the neighboring empires. Before King Rajkiran could reach Shanya Empire, the entire empire (people, valuables and important animals) were shifted to the ship.
But as the ship was made within a very short time, it was never tested for heavy currents of water. Due to this, the ship couldn't survive the waves and drowned. The Drowning Ship took an entire empire with it. When King Rajkiran reached Shanya Empire, all he got was barren land with empty houses. His army marched back to home with all the possible loot they could collect.
When different big empires were informed about the incident, everyone was shocked to hear about the tragedy. At many, the design of the ship was considered as a bad omen. No one wanted to go near the Shanya Empire as people thought that it was cursed. Then one day another army marched toward Shanya Empire. This was the army of King Gaildh who was the brother of King Vasikaran. Gaildh took over Shanya Empire and ordered a model ship to be made from the plans. This model ship represents the greatness of King Vasikaran and his people also represented the last tour of King Vasikaran. The model ship was named as 'The Ship That Carried an Empire.'
Years later two years before today, artist Saurav took The Ship That Carried an Empire on rent to paint a painting of it. He actually imagined how the ship would have drowned with the help of this model. The painting was named as The Drowning Ship. The painting was a huge success and for the people to know what the painting was actually made with, the previous owner changed the name of The Ship That Carried an Empire to The Drowning Ship. The painting was bought by Businessman Prasanna Bakshi for a huge amount of money.
Sam: That was a heart touching story! Is it possible that the model ship is cursed too?
Divesh: None of its previous owners are alive. They died within months of selling it.
Sam: Sad!
Sam received a call from Racy. Racy said Sam everything about last night. Sam convinced her by saying that he actually remembered his parents by looking at Racy's habits. He completely disagrees to have any past relation with her. Racy sounded satisfied. Sam requested her to come for dinner at Sam's house. React agreed and said that she will be there by 8 pm.

7:30 pm

Sam: Inspector Anurag, I guess my assumption turned out to be wrong and Blue doesn't have anything to do with the kids of King Vasikaran. I guess that clue means something else.
But before Anurag could say a word, Anurag received a call from his sub-inspector who said that The Drowning Ship had been robbed from the hiding place. Police were chasing Blue and Sam and Anurag planned to give him a surprise attack. Both took the shortcut to reach the spot where Blue was supposed to show up so that Blue doesn't notice them. Sam said Anurag to hide and if Blue tricks Sam, give him a second surprise. Anurag did the same. When Blue arrived, Sam pointed his gun towards Blue however Blue tricked Sam and tried to escape. But, in the dark stood someone who wasn't Anurag, even he pointed his gun at Blue. The only difference was that he fired at Blue. Blue was shot and feel down. He somehow managed to get up and run again. Anurag followed him. Blue dropped The Drowning Ship and an injured squirrel. The man in the dark had vanished. Sam brought the squirrel home and Racy gave it first aid. Sam continuously started at his mobile. On being asked by Racy about it Sam replied.
Sam: As it is near to 12 am, I pray for no kills today!
