Birds on the trees
Where they want to be
Leaves of green and yellow hues
From spring to autumn,
birds leave and come on queue.

We say animals are stupid,
but their moral codes are less destructive
Their homes are taken by us
Their survival instincts heightened by us
Their deaths are caused by us.

We humans know that we are
the most dangerous creature of all creatures
With little to share and more to spare
Our guilty souls roam the Earth
and turn our dreams to nightmares.

So why don't we open our eyes
Expand our minds and vision
Diminish our arrogance
and bow down to good examples
Because shame is gained
from making mistakes
and pointing fingers at someone else.

While the Earth still spins
and the sun sheds light
Why don't we unite
and find a different happiness
Happiness that doesn't involve
greed and selfishness.

Happiness that comes when the sun rises
and deep love when we close our eyes
Peace with our last breath
and our ashes are laid with great solemnity
This is what we all want,
but few attain.

My advice for generations
and generations to come
Confidence is an essential asset,
but like all other things,
too much of a good thing can be poisonous.

So be the best of you
Not the version from the past,
but the version that grows everyday,
from your environment to your imagination
Choose not just what's good for you,
But for the world that lives with you.
