"We have to move Cy, it's not that far away. Please, it's just through the woods." Maldo holds Cyrie up by her arm while the other squeezes her bulging belly.
"I know Mal!" She says angrily before whimpering and falling to her knees, "but the baby doesn't." She shakes in his arm and Maldo bends down to comfort her, but it only makes her more upset. "Don't. Please, just... ugghhhhh!!!" She groans and rubs her forehead in the dirt while gripping her brother's hand for support, squeezing it.
Maldo is just about to say something when the hairs on the back of his neck stand and his body goes stiff. He turns his neck to look behind him as everything inside him uncoils, and quickly turns back to his sister, "Cyrie we have to go, now."
Feeling the same menacing presence, she nods and tries standing while holding her belly. "Okay," she says in a pained voice, "let's go."
Maldo helps her up, wrapping an arm around her shoulder to steady her. As they continue at the best pace they can, due to Cyrie's condition, Maldo tries to push some of his strength into her which is of no help yet again, as after ten minutes Cyrie falls to her knees and cries out from her contractions. While she cries from pain, Maldo sensing the stifling aura looks about behind him trying to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from, but he cannot. The hunter has it all over the place which only worries Maldo more, he could be wrong and there is more than one person after them or this one person is very powerful. Fearing the imminent danger, he pulls his whimpering sister up and tries to move with her to the edge of the forest where he'll be in the haven, protection from the darkness that's trailing them.
"Just a bit more Cy, just a bit more." They are just about through the forest when the aura grows wickedly stronger. Cyrie screams out in excruciating pain, and he stops but it isn't long before he notices that it isn't pain from her labor contractions. He smells blood and sees that it is gushing from the left side of her back, where there's also a short black dagger.
"Shit!" He whispers under his breath and moves faster to the open field where the haven is. Maldo's just about inside of it when he feels a familiar aura behind him and he turns around to look at his father, "You can't come here." He says looking at him with dark eyes, but Dalvo just gleams at him and steps further out from the forest. Maldo eyes widen, but he holds his nerves and his sister whose pains are becoming more and more excruciating.
"Maldo, it's always a pleasure to see you." He cracks the joints of his fingers and walks slowly towards them before stopping a few feet away. "And Cyrie," he looks at his daughter with a disgusted look on his face. "Well, I can't say the same."
"Leave her alone." Maldo voice has an edge to it that causes Dalvo to snap his head to him.
"You're still bent on doing this Maldo?" He asks, the anger is seething from him and Cyrie shakes from it, "You know what to do, what we talked about, do it now and all of this nonsense will be forgiven."
Maldo shakes his head in disbelief, "I can't do that."
"Can't or won't?" Dalvo says, an annoyed pinch in his voice.
"Does it make a difference?" Maldo speaks up, "She hasn't done anything wrong!"
Dalvo anger spreads like wildfire, hot and engulfing, but this time Maldo doesn't flinch, "She's a breeding whore, a black witch. Just like her mother." His voice is deadly cold and he stares darkly at them both.
Before Maldo can say anything, Cyrie screams out in pain and falls to her knees. Distracted, Maldo doesn't see Dalvo move to them with a sharp black dagger in his hand until it's too late. Maldo is shoved away with an astonishing amount of force that leaves him dazed and in pain, when he finally gets on his legs and looks up, Dalvo has the dagger to Cyrie's heart with his fingers clasped around her neck.
"Don't." Maldo holds his hand up, pleading with Dalvo not to kill his sister, "You can't do this."
Dalvo drops his head to the side and stares at his son, then he slowly slides the point of the dagger down on her flesh until she's screaming, "Dalvo stop!" He shoves it down more and her screams grow louder, "She's your daughter!"
At that, his face grows more menacing and he looks at Cyrie, "You're nothing to me." At those words, he shoves the blade in the middle of her chest and drops her to the cold hard ground.
