Prologue

"Hi, my name is Giovanni but everyone calls me Gio. "said a voice as I take off my earphones. I looked up and saw who the voice belonged to. He was a medium-sized boy that had hazel eyes with really white teeth. " Oh, ummmm hi Gio. I'm Jessica." I replied. I wasn't that person that was good at making friends.  "Well Jessica, would you like to play soccer?"  Here's the 3 simple things you should know about me: 1.i love to play sports. 2.i love food [especially ice cream] 3. music is my life. "Of course." I said with a smile. So we walked to where a group of kids were  playing soccer, as we walked I looked up at him and saw that he Was cute. "Your looking at me. Do I have something on my face?" he asked. " Hu? Oh no it's just that your cute," I blurted out. I turned beat red. Gio smiled and said, "Well thank you. I think your beautiful."  I was about to reply but we reached the field. "Alright everyone this is Jessica and she is going to play. Since Joshua's team has less players your on his team Jess . okay? Wait can I call you Jess? ." " Yes sure why not." I responded. The game started with " three bouncy and then  start" After what seemed a long time someone passed me the ball, I was near the goal post so I shot and scored. Everyone in my team exploded in cheers. We kept playing until an hour passed, Gio invited me to go and eat. "After all it is your mom's baby shower," he announced. He was right it was my mommy's baby shower [yes i still call my mom mommy just like I still call me dad daddy.]  Ever since we came to this church everyone has been so nice to me and my family. Well everyone but this one girl that always gives me evil stares every time she see me. I found out that her name is Carolina. This is actually the first time I actually talk to a kid in church ever since we moved churches. We use to go to St. Gerardo and know we go to St. Augustine. I try not to bring attention to my self because from personal experience attention isn't good. At all. " How does it feel to be the new?" he asked. " I don't know. to be honest I really don't like attention so I try my best to not get it. At some point weren't you knew? To this church I mean." I responded. "Yea I'm the newest one here. Wait I mean I was the new one here. Oh and trust me on this now matter how much you try to hide from the attention everyone that is new here will get attention. But it's actually pretty cool here. We have lots of party's for peoples birthday and stuff. You'll like it. Also your very good at soccer you know. Nice shot by the way." he congratulated me. " Okay then. Thanks for the advise I guess. And thanks. I really like to play sports." I told him. "You can tell," he told me. All i did was laugh at his comment. "One really important advise though. If anyone try's to mess with you or try's to have problems with you just ignore them. Okay? Because if you don't they'll just cause more problems." he warned me. "Okay thanks for the advise i guess." i told him back. " Jessica! We're about to cut the cake! Come take some pictures with us! " yelled my mom in the background. "Oops that's my mommy. I got to go. Well bye gio. It was nice meeting you. I'll see you in mass tomorrow." I said. "Bye. It was nice meeting you too. And I don't got to this church for mass. I do service in another church." I couldn't help feeling a little bit disppointed but I still offered my hand to him. Instead of taking it he give me a hug. I didn't know why but for some reason I felt comfortable in his arms.
