Adam-

"Alpha! Wake up! Something terrible has happened!" A voice I don't recognize yells.

I groan softly, opening up my eyes, expecting to be in my room. But as I blink, I realize I'm not. I'm at Isabel's. The very same Isabel I was supposed to have killed. By midnight. I look towards the open window in the corner of the room, seeing the bright light shining into the room. Morning.

"Alpha? I don't mean to be rude, but you need to get up right now, we need you."

I look down at my sleeping mate, my arms still around her waist. She stirs a bit, but otherwise seems to be out cold. I unwind my arms and shake her gently. "Isabel." I whisper.

"Alpha, please, it's very important."

"Isabel!" I try again.

"Alpha, I don't know what's holding you up, but I'm gonna find out. I hope you're decent, cause I'm coming in."

My eyes widen, and I sit up, hurrying towards the window. I turn back to my mate, running on quiet feet, pecking her lips, and racing to the window. I'm only able to get one foot out the window before the door opens. I hold my breath.

I watch as a girl walks in, about the same age as Isabel. Her eyes dart around the room, spotting Isabel, but not me. I make the mistake of sighing with relief, she turns her head to look at me, and her eyes widen. She screams.

"Francis! Clove!"

Feet race up the stairs, two people bursting into the room, a boy and a girl.

"What is it Sara? What's wrong?" The boy asks.

She says nothing, just points at me in fear. The girl I assume is Clove steps forward, growly.

"You will die if you ever come back here, you hear me?!" She shouts, glaring.

I hold my hands up in surrender, stepping away from the window and moving towards them. "You may think so, but I promise you, I am not a threat."

"Oh ho, getting sassy now are we? I have reason to believe that you are, in fact, a threat. So here's what I suggest: you take your ass, and you leave."

"No, you don't understand, I-"

"Adam?" Isabel says suddenly, making all of us look at her as she yawns and pats around the bed for me. "Is that you I hear?"

I glance over at them before stepping towards her. "Yes, it's me."

The three wolves behind me growl in unison, a clear warning. A warning I ignore.

Isabel growls back at them, and they swallow thickly. She sits up, stretching her arms above her head. Then, she stands. "Did I tell you to defend me from something which is not at all dangerous?" She says.

Clove steps forward. "But alpha we thought he was going to kill you and we-"

Isabel steps forward as well, cocking her head to the side with a cold glare stuck to her face. "If you threaten my mate again, I swear, you are out."

The three of them freeze and Clove's eyes widen. "Did you just say m-mate?"

Isabel nods. "Indeed I did. If he was of any real danger, he'd be dead right now." She states, glancing at me with a look that tells me she isn't kidding. Then, the look eases, and she smiles at me, gesturing me towards her. I timidly walk over, sliding a hand around her side. Seeing her confidence that her pack members will no longer have need to attack me, I nuzzle her chin, and peck her cheek. She giggles. "Guys, this is Adam. Adam, this is Francis and Clove, my betas, and Sara, one of my healers."

I smile at them. "Now that you're not trying to kill me, it's nice to meet you."

Francis and Clove smile back. "I guess you could say we're a little overprotective of her." Says Clove.

Francis nods. "Ever since Myles, we've had to be."

I growl lowly. "Who's Myles? And did he hurt you?" I ask my mate.

She shakes her head. "No, he was my best friend, and protector, he died last year."

Saddness overtakes my senses. I spin her in my arms and hug her tightly. "You don't have to say anymore."

She burries her head into my chest and doesn't say anymore.

Son? I hear my father's voice ask into my mind, where are you? You never came back last night.

I growl lowly. Isabel jumps. "What? What is it Adam? What's wrong?"

I shake my head. "My father. He wants to where I am." My nose crinkles, "Like he even cares."

Her hand rests on my cheek. "At least we're not the only ones who hate him."

I nod. "I'm pretty sure my entire pack does."

She grins, then she grabs my hand, pulling me out the door. "C'mon then."

I raise an eyebrow. "And where exactly are we going?"

She turns around, standing on her tip toes to peck my cheek. "To meet my pack silly."

I smile back at her, just as excited for me to meet them as she was.

So? Your thoughts?
