It's the day of my party and it's been three days since the neighbors moved in and I've only seen Mr. Kim twice working on the garden in front of his house. I also couldn't help but notice they only had one car and it's gone when I wake up and usually doesn't get back until two in the morning. I wonder what kind of job the kid across the street had. What was his name again? Down stairs my mother and grandparents, who arrived yesterday to help set up the party, were discussing the next election. "Good morning sun flower!" My grandmothers nick name for me was given when she caught me eating sun flowers when I was 2 and my grandfather told me I would turn into one if I kept eating them. I smiled and hugged my grandmother and sat next her at the table. "Are you not going to eat?" My grandfather had a concerned look on his face. "I'm saving rom for lunch" I said back to him. But really I couldn't eat because I was scared about my ex coming to my party. We dated for 2 years and he was the most manipulative man I've ever met. He was a year older than me and he had cheated on me for a year while he was at college and the first few times I caught him, he talked me into not leaving him. The next few times after that he threatened to kill me or himself so I lived in fear of leaving him. We finally broke up when the girl he was cheating on me with got pregnant.

It's was about an hour until the party and I had just gotten out of the shower. I blow dried my hair and put on some shorts and a shirt with my graduation year on it. I put on a little mascara and didn't bother too much with make up since it would be close family and friends. When the last of the party decorations were up, it was about time for people to show up. The street was lined with cars of family and friends and Mr. Kim came over. "Taehyung couldn't make it but he says congrats." I thanked Mr. Kim and introduced him to some older family members he might get along with. "Hello Bryce and the mother to-be" I heard my mother say behind me. My stomach flipped. Why did he bring her to? I wanted to run away and cry. I swallowed hard and turned around. He smiled at me and went in for a hug. I stepped back "Whoa there sun flower I just wanted a hug." He laughed. "Don't call me sun flower." I looked at the ground and growled at him. His now fiance popped her hand out "congrats (yn)! Bryce and I wont be able to stay that long we have an appointment today to find out the baby's gender." I shook her hand weakly. They got engaged two days after me and Bryce called it off between us.

After about an hour Bryce left and my party was better. The party ended and everyone left and me and my grandparents were cleaning up and my mom had run to the store to get more wipes for the tables. "I saw Bryce was there" my grandmother said. I nodded and she didn't say anything more about it. That night I stayed up catching up on college writing and I saw the lights of Mr. Kim's car pulling into his driveway. I walked over to the window and peeked out. The car parked and turned off and a boy got out. He looked a bit taller than Mr. Kim. I couldn't see his face but the way he was walking I could tell he was tired. I closed and curtains and turned off my computer and went to bed realizing it was 3am.
