I am finally getting what I wanted. I get to leave this cruel and cold world.

My fifth beating this week. Somebody ticked him off plus he came back drunk. I always feel like my dad will change but, deep down I know that he won't.

I yell, kick, scratch, and scream but it never does any good. My mom sits in her room and listens and my babydoll Malina is too young to do anything so she sits in the corner of her room.

Korey, Korey is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He fights back for me when no one else does

I just want to slip away.

I woke up in my soft plush bed. I tried to get up but I felt a sharp pain in my back.

"Shit" I cussed to myself silently.

I heard a knock at my door. I didn't say anything. When the door opened it revealed Korey, my older brother.

"Hey Day"

"Hey" I said quietly

He came and sat on the bed and cradled me while I cried into his chest.

"Shhh. It's going to be okay"

"How do you know? I mean he looks at me like he hates me"

"He doesn't hate you mi hermana" our mom is Spanish, Italian and, Black we speak more Spanish than Italian.

"Then why does he do this to me?"

"I don't know Day"

"Promise me when you graduate this year you will take me with you"

"I promise Day"

"Love you Korey"

"I love you too DayDay" he kissed my forehead and gave me two tylenol and a bottle of water. He walked out and I took the two tylenol.

My phone started vibrating and it was my bestfriend Ava (Ahh-Vuh).

"Hola hermosa" ( Hello Beautiful)

"Hola Ava" ( Hello Ava)

" Como Estas?" ( How are you)

"En el dolor" ( In pain)

"Me gustaria que solo podria venir a vivir con nosotros" ( I wish you could just come and live with us)

"Yo Tambien" ( Me too)

"Well 20 more days"

"Yeah I am counting down"

"Will you be able to make it school tomorrw"

"Wouldn't miss it for the world"

"Well I believe that you should just pack up your shit and we will run off together and live in Miami"

"Wouldn't that be the life" We laughed.

"I'll see you tomorrow chica"

"Adios, te amo" ( Bye, Love you)

"Tambien te quiero" ( Love you too)

I hung up the phone and limped to the bathroom to take a shower.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am Sunday Monroe Carter. My father is Aaron Carter the star quarterback for the panthers ( I know Cam Newton fine self is the actual quarterback for the Panthers). My mother Lucinda is just a normal housewife. My relationship with my mother has declined over the years.
