Nate was taking the train home, he had just seen that his immersion tube has just made it to his house, after 3 weeks of waiting, Nate was excited.
"Has it shown up yet?" Nate asked his girlfriend, Morgan, on the phone,
"Yeah! It's all set up and ready to go. Are you sure you want to use it? I read the warnings and it says it can cause permanent brain damage." Morgan asked, a bit worried,
"Don't worry, babe. I'll only use it once, just to try."
"Okay. That leaves less worry. Are you almost here?"
"Yeah, I just got off the south train. Just gotta call a car over and I'll be there in an hour."
"Alright. Love you. Bye." He exits off of the South-Bound train to enter the city of Santa Monica
"Bye." He hangs up the phone, "Why is she so worried?" He thinks as he calls a car over, "3456!" He yelled as a solid gray self-driving car pulls up,
"Hello, Nate, where are we headed today?" A robotic female voice said, opening the door,
"Home, please."
"Heading home."
Nate pulls up to see Morgan sitting on their porch,
"6534!" Nate yells, the car pulls away, "Hey babe"
"Hey Nate, the tube's in the room," She said, "Be careful."
"I will."
Nate walks into his room to see a giant glass tube, topped with a worn sliver colored top and bottom, with a green liquid in it. "Time to start." He goes over to a computer that is hooked up to the tube, with a sticker on the top right corner saying
"WARNING: Do not overuse, can cause permanent brain damage, including, hallucinations, dizziness, slurring of words, and, death." Nate sees the warning and says
"I won't die." He turns the computer on to see a white and purple interface, with a black HUD at the bottom, saying,
"Welcome to 'Immersion Tube!' We at Shaper Industries, hope you have a good time. To get started, choose a person to interact with." One person shows up shows up on screen, it's a blond woman with red lipstick and dark mascara and she is wearing a deep red dress, with a name, "Jessica"
"Love the choices Sharper," Nate said, clicking on Jessica
"You have chosen 'Jessica'. Please choose a scenario." A screen pops up to say
"Santa Monica Pier"
"So many choices!" He said, sarcastically, when he clicked ok.
"Please enter the immersion tube." The screen flashed,
"Well," Nate said, opening the tube, "Here goes nothing."
