I walked down the early fall sidewalk as I gazed at the beautiful multi-colored trees.
The cool breezes blew my hair wildly around my face and stung my skin. I took in a deep breath as I took in the atmosphere. Eden was home getting the snacks for movie night ready. Movie night was once every two weeks and consisted of Eden and I making our living room into a giant pillow fort and preparing snacks so we can watch movies all night. I was just getting home from work and I had to pick up some sour candy that was Eden's favorite. I breathed in one more time before I was just outside my building. I walked up the stone stairs and unlocked the door and walked in. "I'm home, E and I got you something." I said as I pulled off my scarf and my light jacket and put them on the hook. The smells of popcorn, sugar, and vanilla waft through the house. Eden pops out of the kitchen and winks at me as she carries out two bowls of popcorn. "Ooo what'd you get me?" Eden asks as she sets down the bowls on the coffee table. I pull out the candy and wink at her as I step forward. Her eyes immediately light up and her normal crooked smile glows. "Aw baaaaabeeeee! Thank you!" She says as she walks to my side and kisses my cheek. I smack her butt as I walk to the living room and turn on the T.v. "Everything should be good for the movie." Eden says as she turns off the kitchen light. I lie down on the blankets and wait for her to join me. "What do you want to watch tonight? I vote horror." I ask Eden. She conks her head as she thinks then she agrees on horror. We agree on watching a new one about a serial killer and I start the movie. As the opening credits start I melt into her arms. I know that this is what I would imagine when I think of home.
