Brainstorm a main idea/theme for your album. Break down the idea to 1-2 tracks for a single, 1-4 for an ep and 9-12 for a standard album using the snowflake method.
Continue your day to day life and let inspiration come to you. Always have your phone near you just in case inspiration strikes and be sure to keep all versions of songs as you continue to work on them. When you feel like you have enough sit and then write down the theme, words associated with it, their synonyms and words that rhyme with those synonyms. Use these along with popular chords progressions to help write the song.
