Prologue: The Sands.
I don't know whether I ran enough. Whether my nightmare could catch me now. Whether when my breath would last.
I still ran, constantly looking back.
The sun blurred my visions, I had to close my eyes each of every step. The weather was hot, as I expected to be, and my lungs were very dry. I hadn't had a fresh water flowing down my throat since I stepped my feet into the hissing sands. My hair was running with me, between the winds that stroke them down. One by one. It stroked my hair the way my mother does it before she kissed goodnight on my forehead.
My late mother.
A cement was building up between my neck, my throat, when I thought about the word 'late'. It was bitter. I would trade anything in the whole world for a hug from her again. I couldn't let her go. But I had to.
"Everything is going to be okay" she would say with her sweet voice, as if she was singing a lullaby. "As long as you're with me."
But that was eight years ago. How about now? Will I be okay between these surrounding sands?
Will I be fine ... without you?
A teardrop fell on white gown. My 'wedding' gown. I didn't want to see it. I was afraid those tears might overpower my legs. I kept running, with my glistened eyes. Hoping I would be home again. Home.
My breath was panting fast as I stopped. I looked around, shifting my body with my head. My heart pumped faster. I could feel the blood on my hand are starting to jolt. My knees felt week and I fell down.
The ruined gown fell with me, covering me between them. I took off the white clip-on little veil off my left side of my head. I sighed heavily. I covered my face in my hands and curled up to my feet. I was sitting on my gown, now. I didn't care. I would trade anything just to be home again.
Suddenly, everything was spinning before my very eyes, everything started to go faster as it spins. My veins were pushing my blood faster, My chest could feel the heavy heartbeat pumping, The winds rapidly whooshed between my ears, The sounds of the hunting bird squawked, The whistling of the sand's venom flowing --
"HELP!" I shouted, but nothing came out from my mouth. No voice. I was as if a mute person begging for help in the streets.
The world kept spinning faster and faster without a pause.
"HELP! HELP!" I screamed from my highest pitch of my voice. Nothing came out again. I gave up.
Will this be the end of everything? The end of ... my life? My closing of my long left diary?
My 'happy ending'?
Everything turned black, as if someone turned the lights off. I couldn't hear the sands anymore, the winds, the hissings.
"AAAHHH" I shouted in pain. My head hit the ground, I could feel it. There was something running down from my head. It was flowing all over my hair. I could feel it turning wet. My hair, My head, and now ... my naked shoulders. Was it blood? I couldn't really see what it is with everything so dark. I felt my head with my fingers. Brushing it down.
"And the lived ... happily ... ever" I panted between my cement throat. "... after"
The last thing i heard was a grunt. A heavy grunt. It wasn't mine. It was a man's grunt. Then I could feel myself being picked up from the floor. Withmy blood dropping down.
