Chapter 1

Cry was playing Pokémon when there was a knock at his door. He looked over at the clock with a squint. It was 3 in the morning so no one was up in this street except him. He slipped his mask on and answered the door, to his surprise; there stood a very sad looking Russ Money.

“Sup Russ” Cry asked gently

“Hey Cry” Russ said, with a very noticeable crack in his voice.

“Come in friend” Cry noticed Russ sniffing every few seconds

Russ came in and stopped in the middle of the room next to the couch, but not sitting down. Cry shut the door and walked over to his friend. About 3 steps away from reaching Russ, Russ turned around to face Cry and fell on to his knees in front of Cry, sobbing and crying. Cry was shocked; he’d never seen his friend in this way before.

Cry got on to his knees and moved closer to Russ till he was only a couple of centimetres away from Russ’s head and knees. He took off Russ’s glasses gently, putting them on the coffee table. He sat still for a couple of seconds before dropping his chin on Russ’s shoulder and moving his arms slowly around his friends middle, hands overlapping on Russ’s back.

Russ moved his arms around Cry’s neck and cried harder, soaking Cry’s T-shirt. They stayed like this for 40 minutes before Russ started to carm down. Cry rocked from side to side hoping that the motions would carm Russ further, which it did.

“Thanks Cry” Russ said against Cry’s shoulder.

“No problem friend, so what happened” Cry asked

Russ pulled his head off Cry’s shoulders but kept his hands on them. Cry’s arms had moved from Russ’s back to his sides and kept them there. There were a few centimetres away, excluding they’re hands from this.

Russ looked at Cry with a face of sadness and anger.

“Red left me because her parents didn’t like me”

Cry was shocked as he couldn’t understand anyone not liking Russ and why it mattered to Red if her parents didn’t like him. A thought crashed into his brain like a wave.

“But dude, her parents own the house. Are you homeless?”

Russ looked down at his and Cry’s knees, this told Cry everything.

“Look, I have a spare bedroom. You could stay here if you like.”

“No, I couldn’t do that to you Cry, I’ll just be in the way.”

Cry saw a tear drop fall and realised what his friend had said.

“You think you’ll just get in the way? You’re my friend; you’d never just get in the way.”

Russ looked at Cry.

“You mean it?”

“Of course”

“Wow, thanks Cry”

They got up and hugged each other, then sat on the sofa talked about what’s been happening with each other. Cry got an idea.

“Hey, should we watch a film?”

“Ok then”

Cry picked saw 2 as he’d never seen it and neither had Russ.

While the film was on, Russ was going pale and Cry was laughing manically.

By the end of the film Russ was as white as Cry’s mask.

Cry looked out the window and saw it was light. He looked at his watch and saw it was 7 in the morning. He looked over at Russ who was still white and wide eyed.

“Russ? Friend, Are you ok?”

Russ blinked and looked in Cry’s direction; Cry saw the fear in Russ’s eyes.

Cry knelt on the sofa, facing Russ, Russ was sat crossed legged, facing the TV.

Cry tapped Russ on the shoulder, asking him to face him. Russ snapped out his dazed state and turned his body to face Cry but went back into a daze.

Cry hugged Russ best he could, considering Russ was sat crossed legged, but his knee slipped on the leather couch so he ended up sitting, wide legged, on Russ’s lap. Cry didn’t mind that much as he felt comfortable with Russ for some reason. Russ started to hug back, a bit taken aback by the position him and Cry were in but realised it probably wasn’t Cry’s first intentions.

Cry moved back to see Russ’s face and was glad to see more colour in it. He fell back on to his back so he could get up. He showed Russ the spare room, then went to change into something new. He stripped down and put blue boxers on, black cargo trousers, a dark blue Cryaotic t-shirt and black socks. He went into the bathroom and brushed his brown hair so it was messy but not tangled.

Cry turned to see AK at the door; the black cat was a regular sized cat but whined like a kitten. He knelt down and stroked its head; it started purring at him and rubbed its head on his hand.

“You’re good with animals but my god they do whine”

Cry looked up to see a chuckling Russ, leaning against the door frame.

“That, sir, is because I respect them” Cry said in a British accent.

Russ chucked more than knelt down and stroked the cat, it was purring a lot now and got on its back, belly facing Russ. As Russ stroked and played with the cat, Cry watched and realised how beautiful Russ really was.

Russ had his glasses back on which was good because they really suited him, his perfect unmarked, pale skin intrigued Cry. It was like his but his was not unmarked. His face looked like one of a child with slight chubby cheeks and no facial hair whatsoever. His brown hair was longer than Cry’s and went down whereas Cry’s sticks up in thick lumps.

“Hey, Cry? You ok man?”

“Huh, oh sorry, I was fading off.”

“Na, it’s cool, I fade off all the time.”

Cry got up and went to the kitchen. He got two bowls and put cereal in them, then put milk in. he picked them up and went to the table and put them down, Russ walked in and looked over at breakfast. He and Cry sat down and ate in comfortable silence, when they were done Cry picked up the now empty bowls and put them in the sink.

Cry was tired as he hadn’t slept because of gaming and Russ.

“Dude I need sleep, wake me in a couple of hours or something.”

“Ok Cry”

“Russ, you can call me Ryan you know”

With that he walked into his room and collapsed on his bed where he fell instantly asleep.
