I look out the taxi window only to see a massive amount of condensation. The London pavement is filled with rushing people in suits holding umbrellas desperately wanting to get out of the storm and to their next important meeting. Rain in London hadn't been all that uncommon, especially during the winter. But everything seems like a rainy day since the day my entire world crumbled around me. I try my best to ignore the wretched memory but it consumes my every waking thought.

I haven't been able to forget the tragic events that had cursed me all those years ago. Trust me what happened is so unbearable you wouldn't find it in your worst nightmare. The blood-curdling screams, the loud bang that would make your ears ring for days..., the deep crimson liquid. The blood, dear God the blood. Gallons and gallons, enough to make you faint. I woke up the only o hear my parents being murdered. Let me tell you that made me a very unhappy 12-year-old.

I let a tear slide down my red cheek as I relive that horrible memory. My car pulls up to the apartment complex. I came from Manchester to come live with my friend Analyse. I pay the taxi driver and pull out my suitcases. I walk into the complex looking at the scribbled on a piece of paper that had the apartment number on it. I step into the elevator and press the floor number. I look back down to the paper and as luck would have it walk into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to." I looking up to meet a beautiful pair of chocolate brown eyes. I examine every detail on his face. He has pale skin with few freckles and a brown curly fringe with shaved sides.

"Oh uh no it's okay don't worry. So um what's your name?" he asks while scratches the back of his neck. "Oh uh, Amethyst, Amethyst Wynters, and you?" I ask the brown haired boy. "Oh my name is Daniel." he waves. I smile at him being a dork. "Well I have to get to my new flat I'll see you around." I wave and knock on the flat door. It opens soon.

"Amethyst I'm so happy to see you. Come in." I walk in and out my bags down. I decided to look around. "How are you. I know it's been tough. I couldn't possibly imagine how you feel." She adds following me. "Why don't I show you around," she says smiling I don't know why though? There is nothing to be happy about! "Yeah, that would help." I let out a small chuckle knowing I'm not actually happy. She shows me around the house. She ends with my room. "This is your room. I'll leave you to it."

I sit on the bed that Ana had set up in the middle of the wall opposite to the door. I lie down and think of the beautiful man I saw on my way out of the elevator. Dan, what a funny man. I wish I got his number, he was really nice. Thinking of the stranger made you crack a slight smile. You facepalm remembering you left your luggage downstairs. I walk downstairs and I see my suitcases by the door. I jog over to them and I get a stupid idea to open the door to see if he was there. Spending a good 30 seconds looking at the door handle I decide to open it. I look out and see him there pacing. You let out a small chuckle.

"Hello?" I ask smiling at the dork standing in front of me. He looks at me slightly embarrassed. His cheeks flush a bright red. I giggle slightly. "Oh," He stands up straight. "Hello" he smiles embarrassedly. " may I ask what you're doing," I say with a laugh. "oh u-Uh well um ya see, here's the thing." he stammered the lets out a long sigh. " I'm locked out of my flat and my friend is on holiday," he says with a frown. " You can use my phone to call your landlord," I say and his face brightened exposing his adorable dimples. "No problem materino," I say with a big smile with finger guns. Why did I do that, I'm so stupid

I waved as he opened the door to his flat when he turned around. "Hey I was wondering if I could have your number." he had a goofy grin exposing his adorable dimples. I was taken back. He looked perfect and I smiled back nodding. I wrote my number on his phone. I waved goodbye and he smiled at me. I walked into my flat and I slid down the door as I closed it with a smile.

Analyse coughed and I realize she heard everything... "It's not what it looked like," I said sounding the least bit convincing.
