Vanessa POV
"Umm, hello?"
I sleepily open my eyes to see a face about 3 inches away from mine. I try to push myself backwards, away from the boy, but instead I just end up hitting my head on a wall.
"Oh thank God! I thought you were dead," says the boy.
I am about to ask him where I am and who he is, when I remember everything. I reach for my bow, but its gone. I look around me.
He must have seen the panic in my eyes, because he reaches behind him and pulls out the bow and quiver of arrows. He hands them to me, saying, "Your lucky they didn't break. You nearly snapped them when you blacked out."
I take them. I haven't said anything yet, but my curiosity wins out and all the questions I had been asking myself pour out of my mouth.
"Who are you? Where are we? How long have I been out? What-"
I am cut off by him chuckling. "One question at a time. I'm Max. I brought you here after you fainted, for who knows what reason. You've been out for about a hour. Now can I ask who you are?" He says all this patiently, but he is smiling, like it's a joke.
"I'm Vanessa. Your going to have to cone with me." I say this while attempting to stand up.
I start to fall, but he catches me. His eyes are filled with concern. He quickly hides it, but not before I see a glimpse of it.
"I work for the Bureau of Immortality. And we have been waiting for you, for a long time.
