Freya Halliwell is sixteen. She has never had many friends and her cousin, Sam, was her only friend. She didn't count her aunt and uncle as family. They hated her. They hated that they had to take care of her after her parents died. They hated that she was just another mouth to feed who was incapable of contributing the family at all. What they hated most was that they were stuck with her.

Everything changed after a mysterious stranger appeared at their door beaten nearly to death.
Would Luke's sudden appearance be the miracle Freya had been waiting for to free her of her dreadful life? Or would he lead her to a life of constant danger and adventure?
