*SKY'S POV*
I was running from something. It was something big. I knew that, but I didn't know anything else. I was in my wolf form. It was pure bliss. I was an above average size for a normal wolf, but whatever was chasing me was huge. It was giant. My heart was pounding in my chest. If your heart could bruise your rib cage that was what mine was doing it was beating so fast and hard.
I turned left following a trail that led from my house. I could hear the sound of my own paws hitting the ground with speed and strength. I jumped over a tree that had fallen in the path. My front left paw landed at a weird angle and a furious burning began in the joint. I kept running though.
Who are we running from? I asked my wolf, trying desperately to understand what was chasing us.
Jax is chasing us, and he is out for blood. My wolf, Adira, said (Ah-deer-ah is how you pronounce it)
Why is he chasing us?
He thinks that we are the ones who will be the bane of the black wolf's existence.
But why?
Have you not been told of the prophecy, girl?
I have a name you know. And no. What prophecy. I hated when she called me 'girl.'
I know, Sky. The prophecy says that there are two wolves that reincarnate every 100 years. One is good and one is evil. Over the years the black wolf has been joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. The white wolf has stood for anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. We are the white wolf. What others don't know is that it is the choice of the wolf and man whether he is good or bad. She was very blunt, but blunt was what I needed right now.
So Jax thinks that I am evil and that I will ruin the peace that has befallen the packs.
Why don't people know that we have a choice?
Because no one ever asked. Plus it is the wolf's past that is usually what pushes us over the edge. That is why we choose to be evil, to make their beliefs true. That is what I have decided in the past, but you I think you will be . . . . different.
So I have a choice?
Yes. You can choose to be good or evil. Their can be two good or two evil wolves at the same time, due to that choice. It has never happened though.
I want to be good, no matter what. I don't want to be evil and cold all of the time.
This is going to be interesting.
As she said that I was tackled to the ground. I was on my back in a submissive position. I didn't want to submit, but he had had me there and I was terrified. I'm only 14, give me a break. He had his paw on my chest keeping me in place. He bared his teeth and lowered his mouth to my throat He opened his mouth and clamped down on it. I felt something warm and wet rush down my white fur staining the hair. I was frozen in place like terror himself was holding me down on the ground. Then I felt the burning and pain. It was like one million razors were ripping through my skin.
I sat straight up in bed with sweat soaking my clothes and face. I raced to the mirror and looked at my neck. It was red in and dry blood was sticking to my skin. I could see where my nails dug in and ripped up the skin. I must have been clawing at my neck during the dream. I looked at the clock it was 2:37.
I decided I wasn't going to go back to sleep again, so I went to my bathroom. I turned on the water and stripped off my dirty clothing. I looked back in the mirror and saw that Adira's eyes were now in the place of my own. She was still with me, no matter what. She will always be there when I need her.
Thanks, Adira. I said. I wasn't expecting to get a response. She hasn't talked to me in two months. She has also blocked me out of her mind.
You're welcome, child. She replied. Wait, she replied. Something big is going to happen soon and she knows what it is.
