Today is an okay day, it is in fact it is my 14th birthday, but as always i am sitting on my bench in the garden.Looking into the pond i see the girl people call Aslym Cole, who has dark brown hair that complements the creamy skin, but it is shoulder length and hides my hazel eyes. I am keeping to myself and trying to stay away from my 18 year old sister Teya who is all about business. Though i think she has a right to, our mother is dying right before our eyes and there's nothing we can do about it. Our father, who happens to be the duke of our fair... well...dukedom, is never home. Forced into the adult role and putting off her own fantasies has hardened her. She has a right to be angry with me too, I guess. While she's out looking for a job i am reading or sitting on my bench.

Teya has learned not to ask me why.I have always responded with "don't you know?" or some other question and walk off. The reason i hate the question why is because whenever i ask it the answer is always either "go find someone else to bother"," go away",or "i'll tell you when you're older". Some times they'd ignore me altogether. So I have learned to just stay off the inquiry period. Today i still look back on the one time i did ask the forbidden question. Why was he running away, and why was he there in the first place? The flash of color somehow burned into my mind.
