It had finally happened, they had taken him in this morning and put him in an interrogation room.

This time they would have some answers and maybe be a step closer to resolving the 500-year-old mystery surrounding the Royal family and the planet's impenetrable atmosphere.

Tito walked down the halls leading to the room, it had been a long week. Thankfully, their labor had not been in vain and for the first time in almost ten years, they would be able to question someone who knew something about the dome-like structure around their planet.

All they knew was that it first appeared 500 years ago when the royals made a deal with a being seeking refuge on their planet.
The dome glowed a faint neon blue in the sky with spiderweb-like veins wrapped around it,  it throbbed every now and then but caused no noticeable damage to them.

In fact, they had long come to realize that it made them prosper, leaving them with strong immune systems, a healthier planet, and longer lifespans.

Ordinarily, this would make them less concerned about its existence and just enjoy the benefits. However, its benevolence came at a price, they could no longer leave their planet. Simply put, they were prisoners.

The royals didn't see it as a disadvantage, in the beginning, seeing as how their species was nearing extinction and how they were often plagued by intergalactic raiders who saw them as easy pickings.
For the protection of their people from outside forces, sacrificing their freedom didn't seem like such a heavy price.

Things were different now, the people of Lilene had evolved, growing stronger, faster and smarter by each generation. The people started pushing the royals to break the deal and remove the dome so they could travel and be free.
However, even in the royal family, only a select few knew the exact details of the deal made and worse who exactly the deal was made with.

By the 5th generation, during the reign of Queen Lilian of Lilene the 5th, the information was already lost.  The people fearing eternal imprisonment called for the creation of a unit that would investigate and seek out this being.
After 10 years of being established, the office of Inquiries Investigations and Interrogations (III) would finally be able to make its first crack in the mystery of the blue dome and the being.
