So, this is set in my 'Somewhere, a Place for Us' universe, but in a version in which Kurt met Blaine during his first day at Dalton instead of before the story started. I actually toyed with this idea a lot and this is an alternative opening scene for the story that I wrote to test it out. This has been modified to fit the poem but, at the same time, it fit pretty well to begin with.

Elliott Gilbert looked up from his glasses and books and laptop when he heard his door slam shut and a body thud against the back of it. Kurt Hummel rested there, a smitten smile on his face as he slowly slid down the doorframe until he sat on the floor, resting his head against it. Staring at him for a moment, Elliott shook his head before turning back to his work and raising his voice over the sounds of Kurt's contented sigh, "What now?"
Rolling his head to the side to look at Elliott on his bed, Kurt simply let out another longing whine as his eyes fell closed, "I've just seen the most beautiful boy." Kurt pulled his knees to his chest and pressed his cheeks against his legs as he struggled to keep his giddy smile from making him look like a fool.
At this. Elliott was interested. He furrowed his brows together, pushed his books and laptop aside, and patted the duvet beside him, "Ooh, do tell?" Giggling as Kurt bounced from his spot on the floor and up onto his bed, Elliott pushed the smaller boy over until he let himself fall backwards onto the pillow, hugging himself as he rolled over onto his side to look up at Elliott through half-lidded eyes.
"I know I should crumble for better reasons but you haven't seen this boy." Kurt couldn't keep the grin from his face as he blushed, eventually pulling the pillow from behind his head to hide his face with it instead. Batting Elliott away when the boy laughed and tried to pull the pillow from his face, poking his side until Kurt eventually continued talking about the beautiful boy he'd seen on the green outside Carroll House, "He could be the one to bring the sun to its knees every night."
Rolling his eyes at his friend's extensive yet vague details, Elliott prodded Kurt again until the boy pulled the pillow down, even if only revealing his eyes, "Describe him, Idiot."
Kurt scoffed as he squirmed to escape Elliott's fingers, pushing his friend away until he neared the edge of the bed, "Kind of short, insanely beautiful, lots of hair gel." He swooned again as he remembered the boy from the green with the golden eyes.
As Elliott brought a finger to his lips to think, Kurt found his phone from the bedside table. They were close friends and Elliott always let him use his phone if he needed to so Kurt scrolled through tagged photos on Facebook to try to find the boy from outside. Elliott looked over Kurt's shoulder, watching the photos of Warblers scroll passed as Kurt tried to find his Dalton student, "Carrying a brown satchel and hanging out with Wes and David?"
Snapping his head up to look at Elliott, Kurt's eyes brightened as he discarded the phone and swung up onto his knees to face Elliott, pillow gripped tightly to his chest, "You know him?" Kurt could barely contain his giddy bouncing as Elliott held his finger up whilst he took the phone, scrolling to see if he could find who he was thinking of.
Eventually, Elliott found the picture that he was looking for and zoomed in on the face of a boy stood beside him in the annual Warbler photo, "Sounds like Blaine Anderson, head Warbler." When he showed the photo to Kurt, he knew that he was right immediately as Kurt fell back against his duvet, clinging onto his white duvet as if they could ground him. Kurt brought the phone back up to his face as he studied the perfect smile of the boy in the photo.
