Chapter one

Scarlet's Pov

I should've listened,I thought to myself as blood trickled down my face. Elliot was right. I should've stayed with him. He warned me but I didn't listen. I let my pride get the best of me.

It all started approximately 2 hours ago, I'd tell you how I know but you'd be too freaked out, I don't even know what's wrong with me.

I'm Scarlett Andersen , 23 years old and I'm a author, both my parents died when I was just a little girl and my older sister, Blair always tried her best to make me happy
It had been exactly 20:00 that Elliot and I fought.

"Your never around anymore" I mumbled as he hugged me, Elliot is a scientist and is always busy experimenting we've been together since high school and we might fight and argue but I still love him, from his sandy brown hair to his lopsided smile to his understanding and caring personality.

"Yeah I'm sorry, I was busy getting some work done with Stephanie." I broke out of the hug and gave him a poisonous glare. "Elliot," I groaned "You know I don't trust her, I know what she's capable of."

He ran a hand through his hair irritated "We've talked about this Scarlet, you know she's just my assistant nothing else."

"Then fire her!" I shout as the rage overcomes me, I know I'm being a little harsh but what would you do if your boyfriend is at work all the time with some other woman?

"Stephanie was right about you, you're so overprotective! " He barked it took a few minutes for him to realize he just made the biggest mistake.

The room fell silent and the tension was obvious in the air "I'm leaving." I whispered pain obvious in my voice. Am I really overprotective? Okay maybe I am but I just love Elliot so much and I can't bare losing anyone again.

"Dont bother following me." Turning away from him , he called out. "Scarlet I'm sorry, look I know that you're mad at me but just stay the night...I really care about you and its dangerous out here at night, stay." I walked to the door and looked at him through the corner of my eyes.

"You should've thought of that before you hurt me really bad." I walked out the door and slammed it. Am I really that overprotective? Something inside me told me to go back but i just couldn't face him at least not tonight.
I wiped the tears from my eyes away as I walked down the street.

"It's just 2 blocks , it's just two blocks not that far.." I tried reassuring myself but failed miserably.

The neighbourhood was quiet but I could hear the noise of people dancing their worries away.
There was no signs of cabs anywhere, damn. This is going to be a long night.

This is all Stephanie's fault she's doing this just to make me feel the pain she felt but it wasn't my fault...I had no choice I wanted to make Blair proud , it all started in 9th grade.....

Flashback

Today is the day of the school play 'Romeo and Julliet' "I can't wait!," I exclaimed looking at my best friend Maya next to me.

Maya has long, dark, curly hair,big hazel eyes and bold eyebrows, with gorgeous golden brown skin that doesn't need any makeup whatsoever. She's really strong and athletic and is the tallest person I know, Maya is the definition of tomboy but what I love about her is that she's just so down to earth and doesn't care what people think about her.

Maya gave me a lopsided smile and tilted her head."I'm so sorry I can't make it but to make it up to you I'm going with you to your last practice right now."

I smiled at her and sighed "So what is your role in the school play? " I looked at her and strarted walking faster seeing that I was late "I'm Julliet's nurse ,listen Maya I'll catch you inside the theater ok? I'm super late." I smiled apologetically giving her a hug and ran into the theater

"Sorry I'm late!" I squeaked and was super embarrassed,everyone was looking at me and Stephanie was frowning at me crossing her arms and shaking her head. The teacher in charge of this year's school paly was Mrs. Lois and she couldn't stand when things dont go as planed.

"First Stephanie can't say her lines because 'It only comes at a certain times' , where is the understudy? ! " I raised my arm awkwardly "I am ma'am."

She closed her eyes for a few seconds and said "Scarlet swap with Stephanie , Carlos and James get in position, start at the last moments where Romeo and Julliet die, if you can do this without making a mistake I'll happily swap you and 'Ms. I know everything ' here."

A small smile crept on my lips as I made my way to the stage, I know all the lines (perks to having an older sister taking drama)." Maya was sitting at the back row chewing gum and she gave a thumbs up,I nodded my head and took a deep breath.

Friar Laurence (Carlos): "I hear some noise. Lady, come from that nest
Of death, contagion, and unnatural sleep," He took A step forward and spoke a bit louder.
"A greater power than we can contradict
Hath thwarted our intents. Come, come away."
Your husband in your bosom there lies dead;and Paris too. Come, I'll dispose of thee
Among a sisterhood of holy nuns.... stay not to question, for the watch is coming;
Come, go, good Juliet,
I dare no longer stay. Go, get him hence, for I will not away." He says sadly and walks away hurriedly.

[Exit FRIAR LAURENCE]
Julliet (Scarlet):
I walked around the stage and 'found' a cup in James/Romeo's hand.
"What's here? a cup, closed in my true love's hand?
Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end"
Looking down at the cup I gasp as it is empty.
"O churl! drunk all, and left no friendly drop
To help me after? I will kiss thy lips;
Haply some poison yet doth hang on them,
To make die with a restorative."

I knelt down looking at James face and pecked his lips,I smiled a little then frowned knowing I wasn't dead yet.

"Thy lips are warm.. Lead, boy: which way?. Yea, noise? then I'll be brief. O happy dagger!" I snacthed Romeo's plastic dagger and stabed myself.
"There rust, and let me die"

I fell onto Romeo and tried to act as dead I could, and we just layed there for a few seconds until we heard clapping, I stood up opening my eyes "Bravo!"

Mrs.Lois clapped smiling widely "We found our new Julliet."

Stephanie frowned threw her script to the floor "This is your fault Scarlet! All your fault, I'll get you for this....one day you'll feel the pain I did , I hate you and everything ugh!"

She ran out of the theater frustrated. I made a new enemy that day but made my sister the proudest.

End of flashback

Walking down the street I could hear sounds coming from the alley ahead , it sounded like a cat scavenging
through the dumpsters but something about it sounded weird not long after that I heard a loud squeak and everything went silent, I made sure to distance myself from the alley and I couldn't take any other way to my place, the fastest is through this way.

Three strange looking men were in black but there was one man behind them in a white coat with glasses and right there in the alley was a white van.

I knew what was going to happen next , what would you think if you saw four weird men in black and a white van? So as a sane person would do I turned around and ran like my life was depending on it but the next thing I knew I was engulfed by the darkness.
