Back in the Water

I woke up to sun rays lighting up my room. It felt nice to sleep in on weekends. So I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth of my bed for a little longer till my phone rang.

"Hello?" My voice sounded tired and scratchy.

"Did I wake you up (Y/N)?" I could hear Rins voice.

"No, you're fine. What's up?" I asked while sitting up.

"You owe me a date this weekend. You free tonight?" My face turned red as soon as he mentioned it.

"Yeah I'm free. What time are you thinking?" I looked at the clock and saw it was 9am already.

"Well me and the boys are gonna get together to swim for awhile around 11am as an unofficial swim practice. If you wanna come then after we can go out somewhere." He offered.

"That sounds good! I'll see you at 11 then." With that I hung up and dragged myself out of bed.

I opened my drawers to get out a cute outfit and I saw my old competition suit sitting there.

I picked it up and started to remember all the races I had won with it and smiled at the memory.

"(Y/N)?" My mom knocked on the door and walked in. "Would you like some breakfast?"

I put my suit down and looked over at her, "I can make my own breakfast mom. I don't wanna make cook for me when you have stuff to do."

"I want to though! I'll have it ready in a 10 minutes." With that she left and shut the door behind her.

I put my old suit away and walked downstairs to keep her company while she cooked.

"Can I help you with anything?" I asked her as she got some pans out.

"Gosh no! Just relax, you've probably had a rough week at school." She flashed me a smile and I nodded and sat down.

I asked her about her job and she asked about all my new friends.

Finally she served me my breakfast, "I'll be right back (Y/N)." She walked out of the kitchen and I shrugged.

As I finished eating she walked in and set $100 on the table.

"Use this to go buy yourself a new swim suit." She smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Mom! This is a lot of money plus I'm not supposed to be swimming with my knee." I picked up the money and tried to give it back.

"I made some extra money at work. And I know how badly you want to swim. I made an appointment to meet with the doctor like you asked. Till then just take it easy, don't push yourself in the water." She gave my head a pat and took my empty plate to wash it.

"Thank you so much mom! I promise not to overwork it!" I stood up and gave her a huge hug and she laughed.

"Just make sure to buy one that will get Rins attention." She winked and I blushed.

"I'm gonna leave now," I walked into my room and put on a T-shirt and shorts so I could go buy a new swim suit for today.

I looked at the clock and saw it was already 9:30 am and texted Rin.

(Y/N)- Hey, I'm still gonna show up to the swim practice but I'm gonna be a little late.

Rin- Ok, no problem.

I slipped some shoes on and headed out the door in search for a place where I could buy a new competition suit.

I stopped in my tracks though because I had no idea where I was going. I stood there thinking for a minute and decided to text Kou and ask.
