You like him. You have to admit.

Every time you pass by each other in the hallways. Every volleyball game you watch. Every moment you sneak a glance of him practicing with his and also your orange-haired friend in the gym, and eventually hear him yell "Hinata, boke!!!"

Your heart just skips a beat whenever you think about the blueberry boy.

You like him, but you're not really sure if he sees you the same way. He doesn't look back when you stare intently at him for about 3 seconds. He ignores you whenever you speak with Hinata every once in a while. You can swear that he even scowled at you once for accidentally bumping into him. Thinking about it, it's pretty obvious that your presence isn't acknowledged. However, part of you says that he just doesn't know how to interact. You have heard of him many times after all, thanks to a certain 1st year *cough* that boke *cough.*

Though, that's not the problem.

You pull up your knee pads as you become aware that your break from practice is ending. Nodding at your best friend who appears to be waiting, you both return to the court and grab one ball out of the scattered others on the floor.

"When are you going to tell him, (Y/n)?" She sighs out after she runs to receive your short serve from across the court. Your face begins to burn as the net catches the next ball you hit. You didn't expect those words whatsoever considering that you didn't tell anybody about your crush yet. You don't want to hear any criticism that can rid your feelings for him. They would all most likely be wrong anyways,

"T- tell him what?" You reply, trying to change her mind about her suspicions, but it's no use.

"Don't be clueless. You like Kageyama Tobio. You can't lie even if you try."

She's right. Not only are you blushing, you're also stuttering nonstop. Even your serves have been inaccurate way too many times for it to be normal. Incapable of inventing any more excuses, you turn your head, looking away to admit your defeat.

"Is it because he's 'mean?' You do know that he just lacks communication skills, right? And he just naturally glares at everything. That's what you told me before."

After a few seconds of silence between the two of you, you approach the ball that you served outside the line. Crouching to pick it up, you huff frustratingly. "I know. It's not that..."

"Then what's stopping you?"

You can't seem to meet her gaze as you mumble, "I'm just scared."

She shoots you a confused look, which only makes you more embarrassed. You mentally curse yourself for missing the chance to change the subject. Even so, you proceed.

"This is the first time I've liked someone for so long. I thought I would get over it in less than a week like I usually do, but... it's been a few months now."

Six. To be exact.

"I haven't really gone this far. I didn't expect it. I'm scared that if he does say yes and he finds out that I'm just wasting his time, he'll-"

"You'll never know unless you try though." You watch as she replies with a nonchalant tone as if she expected it. "There's also a chance that he'll deny you too, you know?" She jokes, but you didn't seem to know that.
